Ever wonder what that machine with all the lenses is?
It’s called a phoropter, one of the most important tools your eye doctor uses during an eye exam.

The phoropter helps measure how your eyes focus light, allowing your doctor to determine your exact prescription for glasses or contact lenses. There is truth to the old adage: you get what you pay for. At Erie Shores Eye Care you get a full 1 yr warranty on frames against manufacturer defect and 6mo warranty on our value lines that are priced $169.95 and $139.95. We have added Adensco this month with a price point of $209.95 (comes with a 1 yr warranty). Our lenses come with either a 1 or 2 yr warranty and often patients keep their eyeglasses for 3-4 yrs on average. The is no “tough luck” at our office. Just compassionate care and understanding to help you see your best. Keep your care in Vermilion and forego the trip to Costco for eyewear.

Are you avoiding scheduling your neuro-divergent child for an eye exam because you don’t think it would be accurate? Think again! Optometrists and especially pediatric optometrists, like Dr. Fisher can tailor an eye exam to meet your child’s needs. Kids need eye exams every year starting at age 6-9mos of age, age 3 then 5 before kindergarten, then annually until they’re an adult.

For all my wet ARMD (macular degeneration) patients…the future of biologics are subretinal injections instead of every 4-8 wk intravitreal injections. What that means to you a once or twice surgical procedure to deliver the medications to your eye to treat your condition. The number one complaint I hear from patients who have wet ARMD: they hate the monthly or every other month injections to the eye. Imagine being sedated, having a retinal surgery to install a drug delivery system. The highlighted meds below are in current FDA studies for approval.

Continuing for the next two wks, Dr. Fisher is in the office every day M-F for appointments. Pediatric care is one of Dr. Fisher's passions. As such, we are always thrilled to be able to volunteer time to get into the community and help children who may not have reliable access to care.
