Clyde comes with me almost every day to the clinic. He sits in his bed in my office, but when it’s time to roll at lunchtime or at the end of the day, he is ready to launch. If you’re in the office and want to meet Clyde, just say the word and we’ll bring him out to you.

We are growing!! Houska Dental is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Logan Johnson to our team.

Dr. Johnson is a Lincoln, Nebraska native who’s bringing his Cornhusker spirit to Vermillion! He attended Nebraska Wesleyan University, playing soccer along with his studies. Dental school was next at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln. After graduation, he practiced general dentistry in Omaha.

Outside of the office, you can find him on the golf course or spending time with his dog Ollie and his nieces/nephews, while exploring what Vermillion has to offer, while also cheering on the ‘Yotes!

Dr. Johnson is excited to meet our family of patients and contribute his dental experience to the area. Patients can schedule appointments with him by calling 605-624-3031.

We take special interest in helping the fearful or sensitive patient, who may have had difficulty before, and may be avoiding dental treatment because he or she has been hurt or taken advantage of elsewhere.

Doesn't seem like a large number, just a bit more than a dozen but forever from 20. 15 years though, that does sound like forever, but it isn't. It seems like yesterday we got married at the Chapel in the Hills during Sturgis with our families gathered together. So much has changed while so much has stayed the same. Our family has grown, grandchildren were popping out right and left for years and our world is better for it. We are lucky (although I have read that lucky people always seems to be those who work the hardest!). Our luck is more that we are healthy, our families are healthy and life is good.
So today we are in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota for Sturgis Bike Week again, we will visit the Chapel and I will be reminded that it is my honor and my pride to have been married to Rita Merchant Houska for 15 years and I cannot wait to see where our path leads next!

Dr. Houska got a new knee for Christmas! It is healing great, but as you can expect, he will be out of commission for a while. Don’t you worry though, we bet he will hit the ground running (slowly) soon after New Year’s!!
