We are asking for tie-able mask donations as we start requiring all employees to wear face masks within the facility.
Eaton County Health and Rehabilitation Services (ECHRS) is taking proactive measures to organize and prepare for the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
In addition to screening and monitoring temperatures of all employees prior to entrance on the floor and at the end of 8 hours, ALL staff members must wear an ECHRS provided facemask throughout the day, which you will obtain from the screening station when you report for your shift.
There is research supporting that growth rates are reduced by staff wearing masks, even if homemade. These masks will not be worn in isolation rooms. You will use PPE from the isolation cart when entering an isolation room.
It is important to understand that the mask is just one more tool to help us all reduce transmission. The cloth mask is more to keep our germs contained than for protection against the resident/patients’ germs, as we are the most likely carriers.
The best measure of defense against the spread of Coronavirus and Influenza is through hand washing. This is just an additional precaution we are taking to ensure the continued health and safety of our patients, residents, staff, and community.
