Your inner critic isn’t the real problem.
It’s usually a messenger.

Behind the critic there is often:
• fear of rejection
• fear of failure
• fear of being seen
• fear of not being enough

If you only try to silence the voice, it usually comes back louder.
But when you get curious about it…
Something shifts.

Instead of:
“Why am I so hard on myself?”

Try asking:
“What part of me is trying to stay safe right now?”

That question alone can open the door to profound self-awareness.

Let’s try something simple together.

Complete this sentence with the first thing that comes to mind:
“My inner critic often tells me __________.”

Now let’s try a second one:
“My wiser self knows __________.”

Example:
Inner critic: “You’re not qualified enough.”
Wiser self: “You’ve learned a lot and you’re still growing.”

Sometimes the inner critic is loud.
Sometimes it’s subtle.
Here are a few signs it might be influencing
your choices more than you realize:
1️⃣ You constantly second-guess yourself.
2️⃣ You downplay your accomplishments.
3️⃣ You feel like you’re “not ready yet” no matter how prepared you are.
4️⃣ You compare yourself to everyone.
5️⃣ You assume people are judging you.
The inner critic isn’t just a thought pattern.
It’s often connected to deeper beliefs like:
“I’m not enough.” “I’ll be rejected.” “I’ll fail.”
The goal of shadow work isn’t to eliminate this voice.
The goal is to recognize it, question it, and learn what created it.
Because when you understand the root…
