Comprehensive eye exams go beyond determining your prescription for eyeglasses or contacts. During an eye exam, your eye doctor can observe changes in the tiny blood vessels in the eye. These changes may indicate hypertension, also known as high blood pressure. People with high blood pressure often have a higher risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, or aneurisms.

In honor of supporting is here to share that the eyes are more than just a window to your soul – but a window to your heart and overall health.

Have you noticed recent advertising for “new” brands of contact lenses that can be delivered to your door on a monthly or even weekly schedule?
Here is what you should know about them. These contact lenses are Old technology. Etafilcon A (Waldo contact lenses) were first produced in 1987. Methafilcon A (Hubble) is an even older lens material launched in 1986. These contacts are old technology wrapped in new packaging.

What does that mean for you?
It is generally considered that in order to maintain a healthy corneal surface a contact lens should have an Oxygen permeability of at least 24. Etafilcon A has a rating of 21.4 Methafilcon A has a rating of 18. As contact lens technology got better so did the oxygen rating, as a result, most modern contacts have an oxygen rating of over 100.
Your vision is precious. Wearing these contacts could save you 15-20 cents a day but how much more are you risking?
