We were honored to return to Connections Day School on Thursday, April 17, where Damari Ortiz, LPC led a staff training on Understanding the Basics of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. The presentation focused on building a strong foundation in DBT principles, exploring practical strategies for use in individual and group therapy, and identifying ways to integrate DBT skills into family work. We appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with dedicated educators and clinicians who are committed to strengthening the support they provide to students and families.

We were invited to attend the Career Expo at Warren Township High School this past Friday, April 17th. This event created a meaningful opportunity to connect with juniors and seniors who are exploring postsecondary paths and learning more about real world career options. Our team enjoyed sharing insights into the behavioral health field and connecting with students who are passionate about helping others. Thank you to Emily Plesnicar, LCPC and Olivia Ritter, LCPC for representing us and supporting these important conversations!

Many people feel pressure to appear perfect or believe they must change who they are at their core in order to feel accepted. In therapy, we work with clients to explore self-compassion , recognize personal strengths, and accept imperfections as part of being human. Growth often begins when people release shame and allow themselves to learn, adapt, and move forward with honesty and self-understanding.
