In 2005, I opened my own diaper cake business in which I decided it would be best to close in 2006, when we found out our second child to be would have Brittle Bone Disease. After two very difficult and busy years, things started to slow down medically and I re-opened my business in Dec of 2008. I still do this business part time, however after researching my own family mysteries for over 25 years, I have grown to love every aspect of genealogy. It is my passion. I just recently found my 4 biggest mysteries just within the last couple of years. My paternal grandparents and my maternal great grandparents. As it turns out, my paternal grandfather was born in Boleslaw, Malopolskie, Poland (On Jan 1, 1899!) and was one of the first of my Polish side to immigrate to the US. My paternal grandmother was born in Holyoke MA. Her parents, however were born in Ruda and Gorno, Podkarpackie, Poland. My maternal great grandmother was born in Westerly, Rhode Island and my great grandfather was born in Braga, Brava, Cape Verde Islands off the coast of West Africa. I found them through dna testing and lots of research. Every day, all day long research. I only had names (and in my great grandfathers case, no name at all....only stories). Since finding my long lost relatives, I am finally feeling "whole". I found at least ten 3rd cousins or closer that I currently speak with and tons of 4th and distant cousins. I have over 7500 matches on Ancestry DNA, and more on Gedmatch.com, so I still have plenty more to research and connect with.
