The officers and members of CT Fire Police Association extend our condolences to South Windsor FIRE Department on the death a few days ago of John M. Kania.
John was a second-generation member of South Windsor FD. He served as a Staff Lieutenant for Company 6/ Support, which included Fire Police for over 9 years. He was also a member of CT Fire Police Association.

Working collectively as Connecticut Fire Police Association, fire police officers from companies and departments in Avon (1 member), Beacon Falls (2), Burlington (2), Lebanon (3), Ridgefield (5), South Windsor (5) and Vernon (3) all volunteered their time on Friday to assist the men and women of Plainville during the calling hours of Plainville Firefighter Ray Moreau.

CFPA had the honor yesterday of being part of the first responders plan to assist Plainville Fire Company and the community of Plainville as they began their final farewell to Firefighter Ray Moreau. CFPA members representing companies from across the state handled traffic before, during and after FF Moreau's calling hours.

The officers and members of Connecticut Fire Police Association extend condolences to our brothers and sisters in Plainville Fire Department on the line of duty death this morning of a member firefighter.

The name of the late firefighter has not yet been released.

During our annual meeting last Saturday, the members of CFPA voted to update our bylaws so that our annual meetings will no longer conflict with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial Weekend. Our annual meetings will now be conducted the second Saturday each May.

Thank you to the men and women of NFFF who continue to honor and memorialize our LODD brothers and sisters.

As we begin to gather for our annual meeting at Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department Inc., we remember the 140 men and women whose names are being unveiled on the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial this weekend, as well as every LODD memorialized before them.

Just a reminder that CFPA's annual meeting is tomorrow at Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department.

Membership is open to any person qualified under state statute CGS 7-313a as a Fire Police Officer and is in good standing with their department/company. We offer ongoing training, statewide networking, and camaraderie.

CFPA holds two meetings annually, at rotating locations. Two weeks from today we will convene at Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department Inc.'s station for this year's annual meeting.

Current members and those interested in learning more about this association and its mission are invited. No reservations needed.
