Last weekend, Mt. Vernon Nursing & Rehabilitation hosted our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Children of all ages gathered to enjoy delicious treats and find the over 1,000 easter eggs! The residents enjoyed coming outside to enjoy the sunshine and watch the egg hunt fun. Happy Easter from the staff and residents at MVNR!

Born and raised in Mount Vernon, Becky has long been devoted to the community she calls home. She is the daughter of Jackson Higgins, who faithfully served as mayor from 1972 to 2004.​

​From an early age, Becky witnessed what it meant to lead with commitment and care. Following in that spirit of service, Becky served three terms on the Mount Vernon City Council. She also became president of the Posey County Historical Society and helped organize the city’s 175th Birthday Celebration. ​

In 2008, she founded Mount Vernon River Days - a cherished annual September tradition that continues to bring the community together.​

Through leadership, preservation, and celebration, Becky has helped honor the past while strengthening the future of her beloved hometown.

On Doctor's Day, Mt. Vernon Nursing & Rehabilitation would like to give a special shout-out to Dr. Kathryn Lee-Kalsch and Dr. Joseph Lee. We are very blessed to have Dr. Kathryn as our Medical Director. She goes above and beyond for the staff and residents. We are also very thankful to have Dr. Joe as one of our providers who follows his patients from the community through their stay at MVNR and beyond. Thank you both for all you do for the Mt.
