❤️ February is American Heart Month! ❤️

Keeping kids active is one of the best ways to support a healthy heart. According to the American Heart Association, children should get at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day to help strengthen their heart, muscles, and overall well-being.

From riding bikes and dancing to playing sports or just running around outside, movement should be fun! Building active habits early helps set the foundation for a lifetime of heart health. 💪

💜 February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

Healthy teen relationships are built on respect, trust, and open communication. This month is a reminder for parents and teens to talk about what healthy relationships look like, and what they don’t.

Encouraging teens to set boundaries, speak up, and feel safe asking for help can make a lasting difference. If something doesn’t feel right, it’s important for teens to know they’re not alone and that trusted adults are here to listen and support them.

At Vero Beach Pediatrics, we’re here to help guide families through conversations about emotional well-being, safety, and healthy development.

Welcoming a newborn comes with lots of questions, worries, and learning moments. Your child’s doctor is one of your most important resources during this time, helping guide you through feeding, sleep, growth, development, and those “is this normal?” moments.

To get the most out of your baby’s visits:
✨ Write down questions and concerns ahead of time
✨ Track symptoms, feeding patterns, and sleep changes
✨ Use your pediatrician as your most reliable source for newborn health

Strong communication helps us better understand your baby and provide the best care possible. We’re here to support you every step of the way as you navigate these precious early days. 💙

🤗 Happy National Hugging Day!

Hugs do more than warm the heart. They help children feel safe, loved, and secure. From boosting emotional well-being to strengthening parent-child bonds, a simple hug can make a big difference in your child’s day. 💙

Today (and every day), take a moment to squeeze your little ones a little tighter and remind them just how loved they are

Sometimes when the fun and excitement of a trip ends, kids can experience a bit of a post-vacation slump: feelings of emptiness, low motivation, or sadness as life shifts back to the daily routine.

How to help:
✅ Re-establish a comforting daily routine (meals, sleep, play).
✅ Stay active and get outside for fresh air and sunlight.
✅ Plan small things to look forward to (a family game night or weekend adventure)!
✅ Keep open conversations about how they’re feeling.

Remember, this feeling usually fades as kids settle back into their rhythm. But if tough moods last more than a couple of weeks or seem more severe, talking with your pediatrician can help make sure your child is truly thriving.

Now’s the perfect time to book your child’s physical!

Annual physicals are important because they help track your child’s growth and development, catch potential concerns early, keep immunizations up to date, and ensure they’re healthy and ready for school, sports, and everyday activities.

We’ve made it even easier for you to schedule your child’s next appointment with us! You can now book appointments by simply texting us from your phone or through our website!
