Caru's loyal customer Alex wrote to us about his cat Shadow. "I was raised with a big male golden that looked like your dog Karu. Your story of Karu sold me on your food. I also switched to a Holistic Vet. That was in the fall of 2021. Shadow (a cat) was almost 12 years old with some health issues. I do not think she would be here today if I did not read your story and really started researching the pet food industry and vets."

Our Story

No, that’s not a misspelling – our Golden Retriever spells his name with a K! We’re Pamela and Adrian Pettyan, proud pet parents and Canadian medical professionals who ran a primary health care center for families in our local community. And yes, there really was a Karu!

Practically from puppyhood, Karu had constant ear infections. To address this problem, our veterinarian suggested a homemade diet consisting of pure, healthy, nutritious food.

From the day we switched Karu to this new dietary routine, we found that he was more playful and healthy. From our health care background, we couldn’t understand why there weren’t pet food products at our local stores that were as good as what we could make at home. So in close collaboration with an accomplished animal Ph.D. nutritionist, we created a complete line of nourishing meals and treats that are as good as homemade food.
