Dr Moreland-another one of our wonderful relief vets; graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been a mixed animal veterinarian in Colorado and Nebraska until she relocated to Vero Beach. She spends her free time with her husband and two girls along with all of their animals. Dr Moreland has a Corgi, a Black Labrador and 3 horses.

🧪: What’s a Low-Dex Test?
The Low-Dose Dexamethasone Suppression Test helps vets diagnose Cushing’s disease in dogs :dog: — a condition where the body makes too much cortisol (stress hormone).
💉How it works:
Take a blood sample 🩸
Give a small dose of dexamethasone
Take more blood at 4 & 8 hrs
If cortisol doesn’t drop ➡️ likely Cushing’s
📌Common signs of Cushing’s:
Excessive thirst/urination
Hair loss or pot belly
Increased appetite
Talk to your vet if your pup shows these signs! 🐾
