What a Dietitian Eats

A sweet-savory power bowl that loves your brain, gut, and energy levels:

Greek yogurt + almonds & pistachios + h**p seeds + goji berries + wildflower honey

Simple. Satisfying. So Delicious.

Why this bowl works:

Greek yogurt: High-protein + probiotics to support gut health, muscle repair, and blood sugar balance.

Almonds & pistachios: Magnesium, vitamin E, and healthy fats for brain function, mood support, and satiety. Pistachios also bring prebiotic fiber that help to feed your healthy gut bugs.

H**p seeds: A complete plant protein with omega-3 and omega-6 fats that support inflammation balance and brain health.

Goji berries: Rich in antioxidants, iron, and carotenoids, traditionally used to support eye health and vitality.

Wildflower honey: Natural sweetness with polyphenols; a little goes a long way for flavor and quick energy.

Fun facts :

H**p seeds contain all 9 essential amino acids—rare for a plant food.

Pistachios are one of the highest-antioxidant nuts.

Pairing protein + fat + fiber helps keep cravings quiet and energy steady.

This is one of my favorite “no-cook, brain-nourishing” meals—perfect for busy days when you still want to eat with intention.

With peace, love & deliciousness,

✨ Big News from Simple Health Options ✨

I’m so excited to share that we’ve moved into a beautiful new office space and with it comes an exciting expansion of the services I offer.

Over the past several months, I’ve been working diligently behind the scenes to grow my practice in a way that allows me to support patients more deeply and more comprehensively. I’m proud to share that I am now offering nutrition counseling for mental health and addiction recovery as a Certified Addiction & Mental Health Nutrition Counselor through the Academy for Addiction and Mental Health Nutrition.

This expansion allows me to integrate amino acid therapy, mental health nutrition, and gut–brain axis support into my work—grounded in evidence-based care and focused on real, lasting healing.

Taking my practice in this direction has felt both exciting and, at times, a little scary but it’s something I feel deeply called to do. Supporting individuals struggling with mental health challenges and addiction through targeted, brain-focused nutrition is where my heart and clinical passion truly live.

I will, of course, continue seeing my current Medical Nutrition Therapy patients, while also welcoming those seeking specialized support in mental health and recovery.

This next chapter feels meaningful, aligned, and full of possibility and I’m so grateful to share it with you. 💛

Loving this combo for a quick afternoon pick me up. Matcha green tea has an amino acid called theanine that helps to give a calm focus. It’s perfect for the 3 o’clock slump. Have you ever tried Matcha tea before?

Healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated or boring! Today’s lunch was quick, flavorful, and packed with feel-good nutrients

Cranberry Chicken Salad Magic:
• Chopped rotisserie chicken (hello, quick & easy protein!)
• Chopped dried cranberries
• Chopped celery for crunch
• Follow Your Heart avocado mayo 🥑
• Tarragon (so underrated and SO good)
• H**p hearts

Mix it all together and enjoy it:
✔️ With gluten-free crackers
✔️ In a BeFree gluten-free wrap
✔️ On a bed of greens
✔️ Or in Bibb lettuce wraps

This is what I love about simple, balanced meals—you’ve got options!

💡 Why this combo rocks:
• Cranberries help support urinary tract health by influencing pH
• H**p hearts = rich in omega-3 fats for brain + heart health
• Avocado mayo = beneficial fats and low in saturated fat
• Rotisserie chicken = protein + time saver = WIN 🙌

This meal took about 10 minutes to make and kept me full, energized, and satisfied.

I absolutely loooove Golden Milk. It's a favorite afternoon drink. It's a warm, comforting beverage made with turmeric and spices that’s known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits, great for digestion, immunity, and overall wellness.

To make it, gently heat 1 cup of milk (you can use unsweetened almond milk for a dairy-free option or low-fat milk if you prefer dairy) and whisk in ½ teaspoon turmeric, a pinch of black pepper (to enhance turmeric absorption), ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, a small pinch of ginger, and a touch of honey or maple syrup for sweetness.

To make it easier, I use Solspring Organic Golden Milk-its delicious! Let it simmer for a few minutes, stirring well, and enjoy it warm. Almond milk adds a light, nutty flavor and keeps it plant-based, while low-fat milk adds creaminess and a boost of protein and calcium—both work beautifully depending on your taste and nutrition goals. This cozy drink is perfect as a nighttime wind-down or a soothing mid-day ritual. ✨

Peace, love and deliciousness!

🥗 New Series: What a Dietitian Eats! 🥗

Ever feel totally overwhelmed when trying to make “healthy” food choices? Like… where do you even START?!

One of the questions I get asked ALL the time is: “What do YOU eat?” So I thought—why not share?! Let’s make nutrition simple, realistic, and fun

✨ My super simple meal formula:
✔️ At least 4 oz protein (about the size of your palm)
✔️ 1–2 cups veggies
✔️ ½ cup starch

Stick to this most of the time and you’re pretty close to meeting your daily nutrition needs with 3 meals + 1 snack. Yes, it really can be that simple! 🙌

Today’s lunch:
• BeFree gluten-free wrap (Eating gluten free, I personally feel less bloated and it helps me maintain my weight -everyone’s different!)
• Salmon packet (31g protein!) mixed with chopped cucumber, 3 tbsp tzatziki (Greek yogurt + cucumber + dill = 🔥) and a drizzle of hot sauce (because life needs spice 🌶️)
• Pine nuts added in for crunch + healthy fats
• Side of mini cukes + a small cup of avocado

This meal was filling, delicious, and took 10 minutes to make. No fancy prep, no stress.

Variety is the spice of life—and the key to not getting bored with healthy eating!

Tell me👇
What’s one of your go-to lunches that you love?

Peace, love & nourishing vibes,

🍁 Happy, Healthy Thanksgiving from My Heart to Yours 🍁

As we step into this season of gratitude, I want to take a moment to say thank you — truly and deeply — to each of my patients.
Your courage, your commitment to your health, and your trust in me are gifts I never take for granted.

Thanksgiving is a beautiful reminder to slow down, nourish our bodies, and connect with what matters most. Here are a few gentle tips to support a happy and healthy holiday:

✨ Eat mindfully. Enjoy your favorite foods, pause between bites, and check in with your hunger and fullness cues.
✨ Balance your plate. Add colorful veggies, lean proteins, and fiber-rich foods to keep blood sugar steady and energy strong.
✨ Stay hydrated. It’s easy to forget, but your body will thank you!
✨ Make space for joy. A walk with family, a moment of quiet reflection, or simply being present can nourish you just as much as the meal.
✨ Practice gratitude. Even one small moment of appreciation can shift the entire day.

This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for you — for showing up, for doing the work, for trusting me with your health journey, and for allowing me to be a part of your story.

Wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with warmth, nourishment, connection, and peace. 🧡
Happy Thanksgiving!

Why Sweet Potatoes Deserve a Spot on Your Plate

Sweet potatoes are more than just a tasty side dish, they’re one of the most nutrient-dense, versatile foods you can add to your weekly routine. Here’s what makes them so good for you:

✨ 1. Naturally Supports Healthy Blood Sugar
Their fiber and slow-digesting carbohydrates provide steady energy without the spikes and crashes that come from more refined starches.

✨ 2. Loaded With Vitamins & Antioxidants
Packed with beta-carotene (vitamin A), vitamin C, and antioxidants that support immune health, eye health, and overall cellular protection.

✨ 3. Great for Digestive Wellness
The fiber in sweet potatoes helps keep digestion smooth, supports a healthy gut microbiome, and promotes regularity.

✨ 4. Heart-Healthy Nutrition
Rich in potassium and magnesium—two minerals that help support healthy blood pressure levels and overall cardiovascular function.

✨ 5. Delicious & Easy to Prepare
Roast them, mash them, bake them into fries, blend them into soups—sweet potatoes fit into almost any style of eating.

Nutrition Tip: Pair sweet potatoes with a lean protein and a drizzle of olive oil for a balanced, nutrient-rich meal that keeps you satisfied and energized.
