This November, weโre shining a spotlight on lung cancer, one of the leading causes of cancer deaths for men and women. November is also Smoking Cessation Month, which dovetails perfectly with lung cancer awareness, as smoking is a leading cause of lung cancer. If you are a smoker, talk to your physician about getting screened (typically a low-dose CT scan).
But smokers are not the only at-risk group. Others include those who have been exposed to radon and secondhand smoke. Again, talk to your medical professional to see if you should get tested -and spread the word!
One last unsolicited piece of advice: quit smoking!
