We are looking for passionate members in the community to Join our Fetal and Infant Mortality Review Community Action Group (CAG) and help us prevent fetal and infant deaths in Indian River County.

- Be a voice for change — Partner with providers, leaders, and families to improve maternal and infant health.
- Turn data into action — Use real stories and trends to shape community-driven solutions.
- No medical experience needed — Just bring your passion for healthier moms, babies, and families.
- Quarterly meetups — Share ideas, review progress, and help drive positive change locally.

🚗 National Seat Check Saturday – September 27 🚗
Keeping kids safe on the road starts with the right car seat and proper installation.

Observed every year on the fourth Saturday in September, this day was created by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to raise awareness about child passenger safety. With car accidents being a leading cause of injury and death among children, seat checks can save lives.

✅ Make sure your child’s car seat is properly installed.
✅ Know the right seat for their age, weight, and height.
✅ Visit a certified technician or local event for a free seat check.

Let’s protect our littlest passengers—because safety starts with a seat.

Black Breastfeeding Week (Aug 25–31) is a time to raise awareness, honor resilience, and celebrate the beauty of breastfeeding in the Black community.

At Healthy Start, our team provides lactation support, education, and encouragement so every family feels confident and empowered on their feeding journey.

Together, we can break barriers, close the gap, and make sure every baby has the healthiest start possible. In 2023, Initiation rate for Black mothers in Indian River County was at 87.17%, whereas the State average for Black mothers was 78.89%.
