❤️🦁 Leo Loveheart is on the move! 🦁❤️

Our cafeterias are spreading the love in the sweetest way — by sending Leo Loveheart home with lucky students!

At Storm Grove Middle School, the team added a little surprise by placing a winning sticker under select trays… and just like that, Leo found a new home! 🎉

Meanwhile at Citrus Elementary School, the excitement was building as the cafeteria team awarded their lion to the 100th student in line! 🙌

We love seeing our schools get creative and make mealtime extra special. It’s more than just lunch — it’s fun, connection, and memories being made in the cafeteria every day. 💛

🧄🧀 Garlic Cheddar Biscuit Taste Test = HUGE HIT! 🧀🧄

Our team stopped by Storm Grove Middle School today for a special taste-testing event — and let’s just say… the garlic cheddar biscuits stole the show! 🙌

The Storm Grove Stingrays gave them two fins up!
Students loved the warm, savory flavor and were begging for these biscuits to be added to the menu. That’s the kind of feedback we love to hear! 💬✨

In the SDIRC Food & Nutrition Department, student voice matters. When we test new items, we’re listening — and this one might just be swimming onto the menu soon! 👀

Way to go, Stingrays, for helping us shape the future of school meals! 💙

🎥🍎 Student Voices Shaping Our Menu! 🍎🎥

Today, our Food & Nutrition Services team had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council meeting for a special Taste Testing Event!

Our vendors joined us to showcase potential new menu items, and our students sampled, evaluated, and provided honest feedback on each one. From flavor and appearance to overall appeal, their input plays a vital role in helping us decide what could be added to school menus across the district.

At SDIRC Food & Nutrition Services, we believe the best menus are built with student voice at the center. 👏 When students help choose the meals, participation grows — and so does excitement in the cafeteria!

Last week, our Food & Nutrition Services team had the honor of catering a special Grandparents’ Luncheon at Liberty Magnet School — and it was such a meaningful day! 💐

Guests enjoyed a delicious pasta bar along with seasoned green beans, a fresh side salad, assorted fresh fruit, fruit infused water and iced tea, and a sweet dessert to top it all off. 🍝🥗🍎🍰

There’s something so special about watching grandparents and students gather around the table to share a meal, laughter, and memories together. Moments like these remind us that our cafeterias are about more than food — they’re about connection.

Thank you, Liberty Magnet School, for the opportunity to serve your families. It was truly our pleasure to be part of this wonderful event! 💛

🚌❤️ February is Love the Bus Month! ❤️🚌

This month, we’re giving a big shout-out to our incredible transportation professionals who help get students to school safely every day. By making sure students arrive on time, they’re not only supporting learning in the classroom—they’re also helping students start their day with a nutritious school breakfast and stay fueled with lunch in our cafeterias.
