Born at 28 weeks and facing early medical challenges, she continues to amaze us with joyful spirit. She’s building hand skills, crawling and walking with support, improving balance during play, and lighting up every session with her smiles. Congratulations to Sunshine Physical Therapy Clinic - Vero Beach on receiving a Golden Impact Award for their School Readiness through Occupational and Speech Therapies program.

The Golden Impact Award recognizes agencies that successfully meet all of their contracted program outcomes for the year. This recognition highlights a strong commitment to accountability, effective service delivery, and meaningful impact for children and families in Indian River County.

Sunshine Physical Therapy Clinic provides in clinic and off site outpatient rehabilitation through an interdisciplinary approach focused on delivering the highest quality care. Through occupational and speech therapies, the program helps children build the foundational skills needed for kindergarten readiness.

These therapies support children in improving communication, motor development, and other essential skills that strengthen their health, confidence, and overall quality of life. By increasing access to care for families who may otherwise face financial or insurance barriers, the program ensures more children have the opportunity to succeed in school and beyond.

A local sensory‑friendly movie experience for families looking for a relaxed, inclusive environment. Thank you to Majestic Theatre for offering this inclusive experience for our community. 📽️

This family friendly presentation features dimmed lights, lower volume, and a relaxed environment where guests are free to move around and enjoy the movie at their own pace. We were honored to receive a 2025 Golden Impact Award from the Children’s Services Advisory Committee (CSAC) at yesterday’s Golden Impact Awards Ceremony.
CSAC’s funding and support help make our School Readiness Program possible, and we’re grateful for their continued investment in early childhood success in Indian River County.

🌟 Sunshine PTC’s Hero Origin Story 🌟

The CSAC Community Needs Assessment revealed a critical challenge in Indian River County: more children are reaching school age without the foundational skills needed to succeed.

To help support this need, our team pediatric therapy team provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy for children ages 0–6, with 94% of the children we see having been diagnosed with some type of developmental delay. Through gross motor, fine motor, sensory, and communication support, we help young learners build the skills they need for kindergarten and beyond.
And the impact is measurable.

Thanks to CSAC and organizations like Sunshine Physical Therapy Clinic, kindergarten readiness has increased from 45% to 55% between 2022–2024 - though 45% of children still need support.

Children like Elijah show why early intervention matters. When he began therapy in 2024, spina bifida limited his mobility, fine motor skills, and communication. Today, he’s propelling his wheelchair, reaching for toys, interacting with peers, and using more words and an AAC device to express his needs.

Sunshine PTC is proud to continue to meet this community need and help our youngest learners grow, thrive, and step confidently into school.

We’d like to thank the Board of County Commissioners for allocating funds through
the ’s Services Advisory Committee (CSAC) to support programs like ours.

Together, we’re making a lasting impact on children and families in our community.
