🚨Gov. Murphy recently celebrated "the lowest number of shootings in nearly 15 years" in New Jersey

Such is in light of NJ Attorney General Platkin just releasing NJ's Permit-to-Carry Dashboard, which includes the data for carry (CCW) permit applications in NJ since such became a reality here in 2019. It shows well over 30,000 people have been approved for carry/CCW permits in NJ since 2019, with just 0.8% being denied.

Yet, since 2020, Dr. Michael Anestis, Executive Director of the Rutgers Gun Violence Research Institute, has been putting out numerous interviews and publications warning New Jerseyans of the 'alarming' data his lab has reportedly collected, and the gun deaths that he believed were likely to follow as a result of the pandemic, carry/CCW rights, etc. In my interviews, talks/trainings, and publications, during this same period, I would put the actual data into context and toned down the fear-mongering - because the data simply wasn't there before and it certainly isn't there now to support the alarmist positions.
When it comes to firearm-related issues, I am happy to be right because it means no significant increase in gun deaths, but New Jerseyans may also want to know that I have not taken a single dollar ($0.00) of funding since completing my PhD in 2010, despite publishing 3 books with Oxford, etc. Indeed, Dr. Anestis did publish 1 book with Oxford, but indicates he has taken $8.7 million in funding from NJ since 2020 alone, and an additional $14.7 million since 2019 from Military sources (i.e., $23.4 million).
