’Twas the Night Before Christmas at Good Shepherd and Kidwell Home,
And all through the halls, a sweet calm gently fell.
The wheelchairs were parked and the lights dimmed down low,
While the soft glow of Christmas trees continued to glow.
Stockings were hung by each doorway with care,
Filled with small treasures and moments to share.
The nurses and aides made one last quiet round,
With caring hearts and soft footsteps, barely a sound.
Some residents slept, dreaming of days long ago,
Of snow-covered porches and loved ones they know.
Others stayed wakeful, eyes twinkling bright,
Sharing old stories deep into the night.
The scent of cocoa still lingered nearby,
With carols that hummed as the hours slipped by.
Not a creature was stirring—well, maybe just one…
A devoted caregiver checking on everyone.
With a blanket tucked in and a gentle goodnight,
They whispered, “Merry Christmas,” before turning out the light.
For here in this home, though the years may be many,
Love lives abundantly—and joy is still plenty.
So as Christmas arrives with the dawn’s early gleam,
May peace fill each heart, each hope, and each dream.
From our family at Good Shepherd and Kidwell, to yours near and far—
Merry Christmas to all, just the way that you are. 🎄❤️
