At Salt & Light Speech-Language Resources, we believe every person is fearfully and wonderfully made — and sometimes that means walking alongside families to help the body work the way God designed it to.

Did you know speech therapy supports both children and adults?

Speech-language pathologists work with individuals across the lifespan to improve communication, oral function, and swallowing.

At Salt & Light Speech-Language Resources, we focus on helping individuals build the foundational skills needed for confident communication and healthy oral function.

If you’ve been wondering whether speech therapy might help you or your child, trust your instincts. Early support matters.

✨ We are currently accepting new clients.

At Salt & Light, our SLPs evaluate and treat communication, swallowing, and oral-motor concerns—supporting children and their families every step of the way. Many parents try reminders, rewards, or asking their child to “just stop,” but oral habits like thumb sucking or nail biting rarely disappear with willpower alone.

I created a Free Habit Readiness Checklist to help parents determine whether their child is ready to eliminate the habit successfully.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, this resource can help bring clarity.

If you know another parent who might benefit from this resource, please consider sharing this post so it can reach families who may need it. Sometimes the right information at the right time can make all the difference.

Is your child still using a pacifier or sucking their thumb? It’s common — and there’s a path forward. In our latest blog, Amanda explains why eliminating oral habits is often the first step toward lasting speech and oral function progress. Learn practical next steps and how a whole‑person approach helps with tongue posture, breathing, and muscle function. Read more: https://wix.to/K6HDn4H

If your child sucks their thumb, uses a pacifier beyond toddler years, or has a long-standing oral habit, you may be wondering: • “Will they just outgrow it?” • “Is it really affecting their speech?” • “Should we wait?”These are incredibly common questions — and you are not alone...

We’ve had many families reach out seeking myofunctional therapy — especially as they prepare for or recover from a frenectomy.

One thing we believe in at Salt & Light is transparency.

Myofunctional therapy is often considered private pay. (I created an Instagram Reel with more details.)
But instead of letting that be a barrier, we created structured package options designed to:

• Support proper oral rest posture
• Improve nasal breathing
• Address swallowing patterns
• Strengthen tongue mobility and coordination
• Provide a clear progression (not random exercises)

We also offer in-office payment plans and financing through Affirm to make care more accessible for families who are ready to invest in long-term functional change.

This isn’t a quick fix.
It’s a guided, evidence-based process.

And we’re honored to walk it with you.
