Today, on World Down Syndrome Day, and every day ahead, we commit to who we are and why we exist.

This mission carries us forward:

Down Syndrome Alabama is dedicated to empowering individuals with Down syndrome and their families across Alabama to thrive through advocacy, connections, and education.

Empowerment is not passive. It is intentional.
Education is not optional. It is foundational.
Connection is not incidental. It is transformational.

This refined mission strengthens our ability to serve families in every region of our state, at every age and stage of life. It reflects thoughtful growth, clear direction, and a commitment to lasting impact — not just for this moment, but for generations to come.

On 3.21, we celebrate. And we build.

Because today, and all days ahead, empowerment leads the way💙💛

Meet Elijah “Eli” 💙 Know his name, and know that he loves to giggle and roll—and that he is his siblings’ favorite little guy. If you only knew one thing about Eli, it would be this: he is the sweetest and most loving baby. He is easygoing, happy, and cuddly, and when you hear his name, you think of his little smile. World Down Syndrome Day is a reminder that behind every diagnosis is a name, a story, and a life worth knowing and celebrating. Because when you know Eli, you know sweetness, joy, and a love that shows up in the smallest, most beautiful ways.

Because when you know Hunter, you know determination, leadership, and a life lived boldly.
