Happy anniversary to The Legacy Robe! 75 years ago today, Arthur Partington, a chorus dancer in Call Me Madam on Broadway, took a cabbage rose from Ethel Merman's gown and sewed it on to a robe that had been sent to him as an opening night gift by his friend Bill Bradley from the chorus of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Arthur sent the newly decorated robe to a friend in the chorus of Guys and Dolls to celebrate their opening night – and a Broadway tradition was born!

Please speak for these professions that are truly community builders. As theatre educators, we do what we do because of our students. We love our Art but the students and our communities are the focus.

We stand with our friends and colleagues at the Arts Education Alliance in sounding the alarm! Moving major U.S. Department of Education programs to other federal agencies undermines stable, equitable learning opportunities for students nationwide. Students need GREATER access to high-quality arts instruction, not less!

Help us advocate for students and educators across the country by contacting your member of congress TODAY! You can find your representatives on our website and through our Linktree.
