It’s DID Awareness Day…
Let’s clear up a few myths and stigmas about Dissociative Identity Disorder —

DID is a complex trauma-related condition that develops as a response to overwhelming, often early and repeated trauma.

Healing is possible and it begins with understanding, not stigma.

Sometimes self-harm isn’t about wanting life to end.
It’s about wanting the pain to stop.

Trauma can overwhelm the nervous system. For some, self-harm becomes a way to cope, regulate, or feel something.

If this is part of your story:
You are not broken.
You are not attention-seeking.
You deserve support.

Healing doesn’t happen through shame. It happens through safety.
If you need immediate support, call or text 988.
If you’re ready to talk in a safe space, we’re here.

Happy Random Acts of Kindness Day 🤝

What can kindness look like?
Tell a friend you’re proud of them.
Pay for someone’s coffee.
Call someone you’ve been thinking about.
Ask a loved one how you can help them.

Keep it simple.
Don’t withhold your kindness, the world needs it.

At Sojourn, we decided to use PTS (Post-Traumatic Stress) instead of PTSD (Post/Traumatic Stress Disorder) because trauma responses are not a disorder, they’re the nervous system doing its best to survive. Nothing is ‘wrong’ with you. Your body adapted. Trauma changes the brain and body, not because you’re broken, but because you survived. PTS instead of PTSD, honors the strength and resilience behind trauma survival.
