Stubborn weight can have different root causes:
-Hormone imbalance
-Imbalanced digestion/toxins
-Unprocessed emotions
-Poor food choices

Each root cause is very different, and all of these things are balanced in the physiology in different ways. Lifestyle choices, daily routine, using food as medicine, and herbal remedies are all tried and true ways to get the scales to budge.

And remember, true health and wellness is not a number, but rather the state of your digestion, the strength of your tissues, and a peaceful state of mind.

Ayurveda understands pathogenesis (disease progression) in 6 stages. The first 4 levels are not detectable via bloodwork, labs, or imaging (MRI, ultrasound, etc).

This is often seen when we go to our medical provider because we are feeling “off” or “not right,” but all of our test results come back normal. From a holistic perspective, this would point toward disease manifestation between the levels of 1 and 4. 

Once we arrive at level 5 or 6, disease has fully bloomed and it takes much longer to reverse, or it has to just be managed. Levels 1-4 are fairly easy to rebalance!

It’s been a busy 2 months starting my practice at the Portage Family Healing Center! Seeing and hearing success stories from clients is beyond rewarding. The physiology knows exactly what to do with an herbal remedy, and herbs are meant for a period of rebalancing, NOT something that you have to take the rest of your life. Nature is amazing .
