April is Child Abuse Awareness Month 💙

At 12 PM today, take a moment to listen for the bells, and sirens coming together in support of children and families everywhere.

Tomorrow marks the start of Child Abuse Awareness Month, and our community is coming together to raise awareness. 💙
Hope Child Advocacy Center, local organizations, churches, and first responders will kick off the month with a “Sound Off for Child Abuse Awareness.”

Sirens and church bells will ring across the community as a reminder to protect children and prevent abuse. Community members are encouraged to honk, set an alarm, or wear blue to show support.

I feel it’s important to speak out and be clear about my values, and the values of LivLively Wellness.

I want my community to know that you are safe here. This is a shared space rooted in care, respect, and inclusion.

There is a real need right now for more support and protection in our communities. I do not align with rhetoric or actions that promote hate, discrimination, or the removal of human rights. In my work, I strive to support my clients with steady care, compassion, and understanding, while helping them recognize and build their own inner strengths.

I also know that the current political climate can add to daily stress, increase fear, and feel incredibly heavy to carry, especially when it feels like there is little we can do or that our voices don’t matter. Feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure during times like this is a very human response.

If you feel called, support can look small and personal: resting when you need to, staying connected to people who feel safe, setting boundaries around media, checking in on one another, or speaking up in ways that feel good for you.

I'm committed to supporting vulnerable populations and communities, protecting civil rights for all, and continuing to offer a space of care, safety, and support. 💜🫶

Meet Prada—one of the sweet animals I’ve had the joy of spending time with outside of sessions. Just a reminder that healing doesn’t always have to look like sitting still. Sometimes, it looks like sunshine, soft noses, and deep breaths. 🐴✨

Gulf Bend Center is proud to partner with The Vine School to host the Build Your Own Crisis Kit event! This FREE event is open to individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and/or Autism.
