The Student Council at St. Joseph High School - Victoria, Tx recently hosted another successful Cuts for Cancer Assembly in support of cancer patients and Children with Hair Loss. ✂️💙

Fifteen students donated their hair, and the school raised an incredible $4,496.33 for Citizens Medical Foundation to help local oncology patients. Faculty members also joined in by shaving their heads to encourage donations and show support.

A special thank you to Terri Low, Oncology Nurse Navigator at Citizens Medical Center, for attending, and to the stylists from Hair Dimensions for donating their time and talent.

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and compassion shown by the entire STJ community! 💛

Severe bleeding can become life-threatening in under 5 minutes. You may be the first person there before EMS arrives, and the actions you take could save a life. ❤️🩹

Today on Stop the Bleed Day, the Trauma Program Team at Citizens Medical Center encourages our community to learn the simple, lifesaving skills that can help control bleeding during an emergency:

Today we celebrated the incredible EMS professionals in our community with a Fiesta-themed EMS Week luncheon! 🌮🎉🚑

Our fajita fiesta was a small way to say THANK YOU to the men and women who answer the call at all hours, provide critical care when it matters most, and show unwavering dedication to our communities every single day.

To all EMS personnel, thank you for being there in life’s most urgent moments and for making a difference every day. We appreciate you more than words can say! ❤️

May is Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness Month. 🎗Skin cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer, and early detection can make all the difference.

☀️ As the sun comes out and we spend more time outdoors, take steps to protect your skin and know the warning signs of melanoma.

Use the ABCDEs of melanoma to help spot suspicious changes in moles or skin.

Help reduce your risk by:
🧴 Wearing broad-spectrum sunscreen daily
👒 Wearing hats, sunglasses, and protective clothing
⛱ Seeking shade, especially during peak sun hours
🚫 Avoiding tanning beds
🔁 Reapplying sunscreen every 2 hours when outdoors

If you’ve noticed a change in your skin or are simply due for your yearly skin check, schedule an appointment with Citizens Mohs Surgery & Dermatology Center. Our team is here to help you stay healthy and protected year-round. 💙
