Our team creates individualized treatment plans to address:

Cognitive-Linguistic Deficits
Difficulties with memory, attention, problem-solving, processing speed, executive functioning, word-finding, and communication organization.

Dysphagia
Swallowing difficulties that may cause coughing, choking, food “sticking,” or increased risk of aspiration. We provide evaluation and treatment to support safe and efficient swallowing.

Dysarthria
A motor speech disorder caused by weakness or incoordination of the speech muscles, resulting in slurred, slow, or difficult-to-understand speech.

Voice Disorders
Changes in vocal quality, pitch, loudness, or endurance that may sound hoarse, breathy, strained, or weak.

I have three sessions of Speech Therapy left and I can’t begin to express how thankful I am to the staff at Building Kid Steps (they also work with Adults). A welcoming and relaxing environment. It’s been quite a journey but the outcome is far better than I imagined! Forever thankful! ❤️🎼

Going to take a moment and give a most blessed birthday shout out to Cynthia Cuellar our office manager and and right hand person. Cynthia is such a blessing to us. She does her job to the greatest degree and cares so much about if a kid gets scheduled or authorized gor services. She manages the therapist schedules and makes sure we are all accounted for. She keeps me on track and is the other half to my crazy. If you see her this week let wish her a happy birthday.

Starting out the new year with hearts full of thankfulness. Thankful that we are serving great families and even greater patients. We love our job. Is it an easy one NO but it is a labor of sweat and tears along with lots of laughs. We have new things coming this year. I am going to try to share more often and spot light our amazing staff and the services we offer. It is our annual Trunk or Treat and as always it melts my heart. I love that the kids are so excited. Love that the families all come and get into the whole fun. Pin the bow on the skeleton, dint get eaten by the sharks, monster mash, mummy bowling, eye ball racea and haunted house ball in the cups as wellas tattoos. It was a great evening. Big big big shout out to Marie and Peyton and Deborah for working on all the games. Thanks to the staff for staying for fun.

Speech Language Pathologist and/or Speech Assistant and Occupational Therapist and/or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. Competitive pay rates, Part time or full time. No weekends, no late days M-Th 8 to 5:15 and Friday 8 to 12 is the full time work week. Minimal to no travel. Fun work environment.
