We’ve been made aware by two families, in less than a month, of scam calls received by both families from a person claiming to be an employee of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home. The scam caller insisted the family pay a portion of the funeral expenses immediately over the phone via a credit card, gift card, or other type of mobile payment app. The scam callers were even using spoofing software so that the name and/or number of the funeral home appeared in the caller ID display. (It appeared on caller ID as “Ron D. Hall”, which is NOT correct.)

Please know that we do not operate in this way. Thankfully, both families acted cautiously and sensed this was not appropriate and wisely told the scam caller they would go to the funeral home in person and handle the issue.

If you receive a call and you are not sure if the caller is from our staff, please hang up and call our office at 912-537-7877. We do not want to see anyone fall victim to this type of ruthless scheme that attempts to take advantage of families at their most vulnerable time.
