We are honored to merge our family of patients with Walker Pharmacy Lyons. Hibby respected the Walker family and their ethics, morals, and patient-driven focus immensely, and we know he's smiling down on us, confident that the legacy he built on unwavering integrity and dedication to our community will be carried on for decades to come.

Georgia HB810 (which would require PBMs to reimburse all Georgia pharmacies NADAC plus a dispense fee equal to Medicaid on commercial claims) goes to the House floor on Tuesday.
WHAT does that mean? NADAC is the National Average Drug Acquisition Fee, a.k.a. what pharmacies like Vidalia Pharmacy have to pay a wholesaler to purchase your medications for distribution. A "dispense fee" is the payment for our services--for our extensive education and licenses, the bottles your medicine comes in, the label that goes on it, the power to keep our store warm for you in the winter, etc.
WHY does this matter? Your insurance company (through its Pharmacy Benefit Manager--the PBM) currently uses it own formulary (which it keeps as a secret) to determine what it *thinks* it should reimburse us for wholesale costs. Hint: it ain't even close to what we pay. They also determine the dispense fee based on opaque metrics like whether or not you've gotten your refills on time (which we can't control).

This is NOT a fair business practice. It's unsustainable for independent pharmacies.

The passage of this bill could help keep your neighborhood pharmacies open. We can't survive when we are not reimbursed fairly. We especially can't survive when we are reimbursed below our purchase prices.

Every citizen in the state of Georgia needs to text/call/email their state legislators to urge them to vote YES .
The PBMs need to know we value interactions over transactions. Say NO to corporate greed. Say NO to monopolies.

Say YES to HB810.

TO BE CLEAR: we are NOT closed.
But please read the article below and start to question your employer's insurance plan because you are not seen as a patient...you are just a token to be gambled with on the table of corporate greed. And your independent pharmacies are paying the price.
