We are so pleased to announce that Kaufman Allergy Asthma and Immunology has been listed as No. 88 on the 2026 Inc. Regionals Mid-Atlantic list!

The Inc. Regionals list recognizes the fastest-growing privately held companies across Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. It’s a list of 137 companies this year. Tech firms. Government contractors. Software startups. Financial services companies. It’s a very impressive and distinguished group of honorees!

And we are the ONLY allergy and immunology practice.💕

Out of the 137 honorees who made the list, Kaufman Allergy is one of only a few independent clinical practices of any kind! That’s not something I expected to be able to say when I founded this practice in January 2021.

Growth has not come easily, with inflation, supply-chain disruptions, and declining insurance reimbursements, though with focus, determination, ingenuity, and leadership, we have not only endured, but we have grown significantly by putting our patients first!

This recognition belongs to my extraordinary team at Kaufman Allergy, whose commitment to our patients makes everything else possible. While many businesses have faced hiring constraints, we have had incredible stability of team, and a company culture that is unmatched! I have sincere gratitude to our patients, who have trusted their care with us from the very beginning.

I’m also deeply honored to share that I have been named to Washingtonian Magazine’s Top Doctors Hall of Fame — an honor reserved for physicians who have been recognized as a Top Doctor at least 5 times in the past ten years. I’ve been listed every year since 2017.

With gratitude, our patients, our referral partners, and our community are the reason any of this is possible! Thank you for trusting us, for recommending us to your friends and family, and for being the heart of this practice!

🚩🚩🚩Office Closure Notice🚩🚩🚩

Due to the potential for severe weather this afternoon, our office will be closing at 1:00 p.m. today. The highest risk for severe weather is expected between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m., and our priority is making sure that both our patients and staff are able to get home safely.

Our team is actively working to reschedule all affected appointments with any available provider later this week. Patients who prefer not to come into the office may also switch their visit to Telehealth today if they are residents of Virginia or Maryland.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Our goal is to make sure everyone receives the care they need while keeping safety our top priority. If you have questions or need assistance with rescheduling, please contact the office and our team will be happy to help.

Please be safe!

Sometimes the story begins with a spouse who has been saying the same thing for years.

“You should really get that checked out.”

This patient had struggled with recurrent sinus infections for decades. At one point he even underwent sinus surgery hoping it would finally solve the problem. Yet the infections continued to return.

He assumed it was simply “bad sinuses.”

What had never been part of the conversation was allergy testing.

His wife had encouraged him for years to look into it. Eventually she decided to schedule the appointment herself.

At his first visit with Dr. Eghrari-Sabet, the history raised an important question.

Could allergies be contributing to the ongoing sinus inflammation?

➡ Testing performed during that same visit revealed the missing piece.

At nearly 50 years old, he discovered he has significant environmental allergies, including a strong sensitivity to dust mites.

Dust mites are a very common indoor allergen that can quietly drive chronic sinus inflammation year round.

The encouraging part is that he left that appointment with answers and a plan.

✔️ Because dust mite allergy is one of the few allergens with an oral immunotherapy option, treatment was started immediately.

This therapy is taken as a small tablet placed under the tongue once daily at home.

🚫no weekly injections
✅️fewer office visits
✅️treatment that works to retrain the immune system over time

For patients who have lived with symptoms for years, immunotherapy can be a meaningful shift because it addresses the underlying cause of the allergy, not just the symptoms.

With more than three decades of experience caring for patients with allergies, asthma, and immune conditions, Dr. Eghrari-Sabet has helped many patients uncover answers to symptoms they may have lived with for far too long.

Sometimes the biggest step forward begins with simply asking the right question. Or perhaps, listening to your spouse…

If this sounds like you, set up an appointment with Dr. Eghrari-Sabet today. Appointments are available this week!

🌱”Last year was the worst”

A lovely woman in her mid-20s came in to see me, distressed about the anticipated warmer temperatures coming in the week ahead.

She reminisced about last spring, and the escalating experience she has had over the course of the last several spring seasons. All throughout last spring, she experienced worsening misery of unrelenting congestion, fatigue, repeated sneezing, and the never ending feeling of post-nasal mucous sliding down the back of her throat. And even more, the poor sleep quality, and the daily disturbance and reduced productivity at work. Just awful. 🆘

And after this incomparably frigid winter, she has heard that this spring will likely be even worse…😱😱😱

The severity of her prior symptoms were so bad last year that the mere possibility of her feeling worse had become been a cause for major concern. 😵🙈

She wanted nothing more than to make it though spring feeling much feel better, and today, she stepped foot into my office for the first time.

❤️‍🩹I listened to her story. I felt her struggle. I understood her burden of unrelenting symptoms, and empathized with her frustration that her symptoms had never been explained.

We discussed my plan for evaluation with allergy testing and options she will have for management.

She will transform from a state of drowning🌊 to regaining the life she deserves.💆‍♀️

She finally felt like improvement was possible for the very first time. There is now a plan in place to change her situation.

She took a deep breath, and said, “omg, you get me.”😍

Imagine if this was you? Now is your time to come in to see us in the office.

Transformation can also be yours. The pollening is coming.

💜💚💛 Mardi Bras 2026 filled my heart in the very best way.

This year was especially meaningful as I had the honor of serving on the steering committee for BRAWS — Bringing Resources and Aid to Women’s Shelters — and witnessing firsthand the incredible impact this organization continues to make for women and girls in crisis.

I’m especially grateful for the many colleagues in private medical and dental practices who followed our lead and joined as new sponsors this year. When healthcare leaders come together for community impact, real change happens. 🤝

So special to share the evening alongside wonderful friends and teammates — including Ashley Scott, NP (who expertly mixes immunotherapy for our patients!) and our amazing Practice Manager Rosemary. 💕

At Kaufman Allergy, caring for our community extends far beyond the walls of our office — and supporting BRAWS is a mission close to our hearts.

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” ✨

Healthcare is human.

This week, our team experienced multiple situations involving yelling and intimidating behavior that left staff feeling unsafe. We also know this must have been unsettling — and even frightening — for patients and families who witnessed this behavior in our waiting room. For that, we are truly sorry.

We recognize that many people are under significant stress right now. Times feel heavy for many families, and we lead with empathy and understanding. At the same time, stress cannot come at the expense of basic humanity. Our team — and our patients — deserve to feel safe, respected, and cared for in our space.

We are a specialty practice that sees patients by appointment. If you are experiencing a true medical emergency, the safest and most appropriate step is to call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. When we give this guidance, it is because we want you to receive the level of care you need as quickly and safely as possible.

Physical intimidation, harassment, or threatening behavior toward our team will not be tolerated.

We ask all patients and visitors to partner with us in creating a respectful, calm, and safe environment for everyone in our office. Kindness and courtesy matter — and our staff deserve to be treated with the same humanity and respect that we strive to show every patient.

Thank you to the many families who support and uplift our team every single day. 💚

What an incredible time at the AAAAI Practice Management Meeting — my brain (and notebook!) are FULL.🚀

But one of the BEST surprises? Running into our Vienna neighbors from right here in Philly!

So great to see Dr. Aditya Dubey and his amazing Practice Manager, Natasha. And can we take a moment for the dedication? Even with FOUR board certifications (and none being Allergy Immunology), Dr. Dubey showed up to an allergy/immunology meeting to keep learning about practice management. That’s the growth mindset that keeps private practices strong. 👏

This is why I love privately owned medicine — leaders who are always learning, always improving, and always showing up for their patients and their teams.

Private practice is alive and well. 💚

Pure joy — and a powerful reminder of why connection matters in medicine.

As I reviewed the photos from our physician networking reception, this one stopped me — genuine joy, and a room full of meaningful connection just beyond the frame.

And it matters. Research shows that strong physician collaboration is associated with better patient outcomes, improved care coordination, and fewer medical errors. When we come together, our patients benefit.

So grateful to every physician and provider who helped create such a special afternoon. This is how we move healthcare forward. 💚
