(RLLC) was founded in 2002 as a center for the treatment of dyslexia and language deficits in children and adults. In addition to treatment, it has engaged in clinical program development in the areas of phonemic awareness and higher level reading programs for middle and high school students. The center provides a wide range of services for children and adults with speech, language and reading disorders. The RLLC owners have more than 30 years combined experience working in the field as Speech-Language Pathologists. We ensure a high quality of treatment and customer satisfaction.

April is Autism Acceptance Month.

At RLLC, acceptance goes beyond awareness.

It looks like:
🧠 understanding how each child learns
💬 supporting communication in ways that feel natural
🌱 creating environments where kids feel safe, capable, and understood

Every child deserves support that meets them where they are.

This month, we’ll be sharing more about what that support can look like in real, everyday ways.

💬 If you’re a parent navigating this journey, you’re not alone.

Reading time shouldn’t feel like a battle.

But for many families, it does.

Some kids avoid reading completely.
Some get frustrated before they even start.
Others shut down when it feels too hard.

On March 25, literacy specialist Kelly Fox is joining our Ask the Experts series to talk about what actually helps reluctant readers re-engage.

Kelly is a DCPS first grade teacher with over 20 years of experience and serves as Vice President of the DC branch of the International Dyslexia Association.

Parents will walk away with practical ideas to reduce reading resistance and help children build confidence with language and literacy.

🚨 Vienna parents: Summer reading groups are open

If reading still feels like guessing… you’re not imagining it

And your child is not the only one feeling that way

Our summer groups bring together students who need the same kind of support
and give them a place where reading starts to make more sense

We focus on:
how words actually work
how to decode instead of guess
how to build real confidence

And you start to see:
less hesitation
more accurate reading
a little more willingness to try

Understanding AAC can feel overwhelming, especially when you are not sure what an evaluation actually involves or whether your child is “ready.” In this episode of More Than Words, we sit down with speech-language pathologist Carleton Levert of to break down what AAC evaluations really look like and what families should expect along the way.

We talk about how AAC is not just about choosing a device. It is about understanding the whole child, building the right support team, and making sure communication tools actually work in everyday life. If you have ever wondered whether AAC is the right fit or why a device is not being used, this episode offers clarity and practical guidance.

✨ In this episode, we cover:
➡️ What actually happens during an AAC evaluation
➡️ How clinicians decide what supports a child needs
➡️ Red flags that an AAC system is not truly working
➡️ Why personalization and team support matter
➡️ Common myths that delay access to AAC
➡️ How AAC should grow with your child over time

🎧 Listen now and feel more confident navigating AAC decisions for your child.
