WE ARE HIRING
Crown Hill Burial Park is looking for a seasonal grounds crew member.
Responsibilities include:
Ability and knowledge to use a zero turn
Ability to w**d eat for extended periods of time
Ability to lift 50+ pounds
Ability to stand, sit and bend for things like, digging, shoveling, pushing a wheel barrow, lifting and holding heavy granite, moving stones, tools, caskets etc.
Position is weather dependent. If the weather isn’t permitting, you will be kept home.
Schedule: Mon-Fri - 7am-3pm (overtime can be mandatory at times)
Saturdays: Mandatory if there is a burial scheduled that day.
Sunday: Closed
Pay: $16/hr

Glenn C. Ford entered into eternal rest on April 8, 2025 at home. He was born on January 16, 1949 in Warren, OH, a son of Charles and Florence (Abbott) Ford.
Glenn was a part of the 1967 graduating class at Mineral Ridge High School. He retired after 40 years as an Auto Worker at General Motors. His boredom got the best of him in his retirement and Glenn went to work for Niles City Schools driving Bus.
Glenn was a simple man that found pleasure in the smallest things. He was an avid bowler and he loved his slot machines and card games. More than anything though, his heart was the fullest when he was watching his granddaughters, Sophia and Grace, play sports and he never missed one of their dance recitals.
Glenn will be missed dearly by many including; his loving wife, Cynthia; his daughters Sarah (Vinnie) Marotti and Stephanie Petrosky; grandchildren Sophia and Grace Marotti, Alexandria and Victoria Petrosky, Alexis Ford, and several great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, son Christopher Ford, brother Charles Ford, grandsons Lucas Marotti and Matthew Marotti and granddaughter Anna Petrosky.
Calling hours will be on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 11am-12pm with a service to follow at 12pm at
Crown Hill Burial Park Chapel and Mausoleum in Vienna, OH.

Reunited with the Love of Her Life!!
Helen “Jean” Draper passed away at home on April 1, 2025. Jean was born on October 9, 1930 in Worthington, PA, a daughter to the late Ronald and Mabel (Vensel) Lewis.
Jean was a part of the 1948 graduating class at Worthington-West Franklin High School. She worked for Kittanning Hospital in the Dietary Department. She spent several years at General Electric as a Glazer; which is where she met the love of her life, Joseph Draper, he passed away on April 29, 2022. She retired from AVI Food Systems.
Jean spent her free time watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She loved to read until her eyesight no longer permitted. She had a profound love for animals. She loved her family beyond measure and was always there for them. She enjoyed cooking and especially enjoyed going on cruises and traveling with her husband.
Jean leaves behind many who love her including; her daughters Kimberly R. Priester of Austintown, Kelly A. (JP) Rogers of Niles, OH; two sons Jeff (Gracie) Prow of Pearland, TX, Tim Prow of De Pere, WI.; two step-sons Timothy (Laurie) Draper and Rick (Mary) Draper both of Columbus, OH; a brother John William (Pauline “POOLE”) Lewis of Indiana, PA; a sister Karen Haines of Youngstown, OH; 3 grandchildren Chase Prow, Colin Gilliland and Tymon Gilliland; her Grand-Fur-Baby Frankie and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Terri Claflin, Linda Rogers and JP for all of the selfless care and endless effort in helping to take care of Jean.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, her husband Joseph and her brother Edward Lewis.
A special thanks to Patriot Hospice for all they did.
A private burial will be held at a later date at Crown Hill Burial Park Chapel and Mausoleum in Vienna, OH.

JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER:

Spring Clean-Up will begin on March 15 and End on March 21. We will be removing any and all Holiday themed decorations, anything that is dirty,broken or damaged and anything that violates the Cemeteries Rules and Regulations. If you do not want us to take something, please remove it yourself before the 15th. You may begin placing things back out in the Cemetery on the 22nd.

Jeanie Gerlach, 77, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. She was born on September 16, 1947 in Youngstown, OH; a daughter of Eugene E. SR and Opal Mae (Coleman) Lockney.

Jeanie was a part of the 1966 graduating class of Howland High School. She also received her S.M.E.A from the Bible Institute in Transfer, PA. Jeanie worked as a Clerk for Goodwill Industries for many years.

Jeanie enjoyed her time visiting and walking in Jesus footsteps in Jerusalem. She made several
trips to Guatemala where she worked with the missionaries. While living in Youngstown, Ohio,
Jeanie attended Highway Tabernacle Church and the First Baptist Church.
Jeanie knew the WRTA bus routes so well, she would direct those drivers she perceived as
being new! She was well known to all of the drivers as she was the lady with the walker that
had so many bags of ‘essentials and shopping bags that they used the chair lift to get her on
and off the bus. Until Jeanie’s health made it impossible to live independently, she was always
on the go. WRTA took her to the stores, post office, doctor’s appointments.
She had hundreds of pen pals and wrote to every one of them until recent years when her eye
sight became poor. Jeanie wrote to dignitaries around the world. Her proudest thank-you letter
response came from the Queen.While in long term care, Jeanie’s many friends would visit her. She loved every minute of it. Thechildren from both churches made her cards that she treasured.This world is definitely a better place to all who knew Jeanie. She is greatly missed by all who visited and called her.

Jeanie leaves behind her daughters Sabine (Bob) Ahrens of FL, Christiane Smith; son Gary Gerlach; 2 grandchildren Gary Jr. (Kara) Gerlach, Kyle (Savannah) Gerlach; 1 great grandchild Kaige Gerlach; brothers Henry (Mary) Lockney of Howland, OH and Eugene “Eddie” Lockney Jr. of Salem, OH and her very close friend Kathlene Anerino of Warren, OH.

Predeceasing her were her husband Charles J. Gerlach Jr. and a sister Sharon Lockney.

Special thanks to Harmony Hospice for the special care they took of Jeanie.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 11am-12pm with services at 12pm and burial to follow at Crown Hill Burial Park Chapel and Mausoleum.

Kimberly M. Miller, 51, passed away at home on Thursday February 6, 2025. She was born on July 1, 1973 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of John R. and Janice L. (Skerkavich) Miller.
Kimberly was a part of the 1992 graduating class of Girard High School. She spent 20 years as an LPN working at Autumn Hills, CHS at The Ridge, Mercy Health and Medical Solutions Nursing Agency.
Kimmy loved the simple things in life like flowers, makeup, massages, thrifting and getting her nails done. She was an involved and active mother. She was always attending her son Matts games and Boy Scout events, she was his biggest and loudest fan. Kimmy had many friends and enjoyed being out with them. She was a member of the Vienna Methodist Church.
Kimberly leaves behind many who loved her, including, her mother Janice L. Miller of Girard, OH; daughter Samantha L. Pikos of Vienna, OH; sons Stacy M. Pikos of Brookfiled, OH, Nicholas M.L. Pikos of Vienna, OH, Matthew M. Pikos of Vienna, OH and 1 grandchild Leonadias Pikos.
Predeceasing her were her father John R. Miller and her brother Keith E. Miller.
Services will be Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 12pm-1pm with a wake following from 1pm-3pm at the Vienna Methodist Church in Vienna, Ohio.

Edward (Wh**ey) M. Borkowski, age 94, of Warren and formerly of Erie, PA, passed away peacefully on
Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Washington Square Healthcare Center in Warren under the comforting care of
hospice.
Affectionately known as Wh**ey, he was born on November 15, 1930 in Erie, Pennsylvania the son of the late
Marion (aka, Mike, the Kieska King) and Irene Sarbak Borkowski.
Wh**ey attended Holy Trinity grade school and graduated from Academy High, where he excelled in several
sports including track, baseball (1946 City Champion – Jr. Baseball League) and football. After graduating in
1948 and receiving a scholarship, Wh**ey played football in Gannon’s first Golden Knight football team
coached by former Mayor Louis Tullio in 1949.
In 1950, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country abroad during the Korean War
with the 11th Airborne division as a paratrooper and with the 187th Infantry regimental combat team.
Following his honorable discharge in 1953, Wh**ey worked at Penelec as a journeyman lineman/emergency
trouble-shooter; after retiring he enjoyed golfing and traveling.
He is survived by daughters, Sandra Zauhar and husband Joseph of OH, Sharon Milovich and husband Stephen
of PA and Annette Rogers and husband Tom of ID; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, as well as
many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Wh**ey was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Pettinato Borkowski; son Steven
Borkowski, as well as sisters Florence Nowak, Ann Chrzczon and Teresa Englert; and brothers Julian and
Thomas Borkowski.
A Requiem Mass with Fr. Joshua Houck, FSSP officiating, will be offered on Friday, February 14, 2025 at
10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Holy Rosary Church.
A Private Burial for family and close friends, with full military honors, will take place at Mary Queen of Peace
Cemetery, Erie, PA.
Memorials may be made to Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, Ohio
44473.

Cheryl L. Scott, 68, passed away at home on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Cheryl was born on December 7, 1956 in Warren, OH, a daughter of Donald E. and Donna R. (Jones) Fisher.
Cheryl was a part of the Lakeview High School graduating class of 1975. She spent many years as a Telecommunication Engineer for Sprint and then worked for Windstream. She was a member of Bazetta Christian Church.
Cheryl was a dedicated and proud donor of The American Red Cross. In her spare-time she enjoyed bird watching. Cheryl loved her flowers and spent much time gardening. Above all else, Cheryl loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.
Cheryl leaves behind many that will miss her dearly, including; daughter Sarah R. (Dustin) Howes of Southington, OH; son Gregory M. (Megan) Scott of Howland, OH; grandchildren Harper, Wyatt, Kallie and little Mr. Colton, who will gracing the family with their presence in April; sister Deneen R. (Paul) Hovis of Cortland, OH; brothers Mark E. (Sue) Fisher of Cortland, OH, Scott (Robin) Fisher of Ellsworth, ME; nieces Jennifer and Stephanie; nephew P.J.; great-neice Eliana and great-nephews Caden, Connor, Jaxon and Bryson.
Cheryl was predeceased by her parents.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to First Light Homecare and Heartland Hospice for all of their excellent care of Cheryl. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Red Cross.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believed in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I’m going there to prepare a place for you?” –John 14:1-3
On January 25, 2025, Donna Jean Cottrill went home to be with the lord and her mother, whom she missed dearly.
Donna was born on January 2, 1947 in Youngstown, Ohio; A daughter to Brady M. and Avis G. (Ware) Cottrill.
She was part of the graduating class of 1965 from Hubbard High School.
Donna absolutely loved crafting, making them, buying and selling them and giving them to her loved ones as mementos. She was a member of the Moose Club and spent many years bowling. Fishing held a special place in her heart. Donna had many memories of fishing at Mosquito Lake and jumped at any opportunity to go. Even when she caught nothing, she enjoyed “feeding” the fish. Donna had a big heart and wanted nothing more than to be surrounded by the ones she loved most.
Her memory will live on in those that loved her most including; daughters Lisa (Quentin) Yocum of Warren, OH, Jamie (Michael) Dolenic of Boardman, OH, Doreen (Sheral) Yocum of New Martinsville, WV; grandchildren Nicholas (Kim) Rhoads of Austintown, OH, Melissa (Houston) Cantrell-Nearhoof of Liberty, OH, Jenna (Sean) Cantrell-Clark of Liberty, OH; great-grandchildren Christoph, Reagan, Kaelyn, Hayden, Lily, Michael and Landyn; a sister Linda Barnes of Hubbard, OH and many nieces and nephews.
Donna was predeceased by her parents, a sister Leeta Lewis and a brother Gerald Cottrill.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joes Hospital for taking such wonderful care of Donna and all of them during her final days, a big thank you to Compassus for their Hospice services and the staff and people at Gillette Nursing Home for all they did and were to Donna.
As we say goodbye, our hearts hurt with the depth of this loss, but they also swell with gratitude for the years we shared, the memories we created and for the love that will never die. Thank you for being you, for loving us all and shaping us into who we are today.
Services will be private with a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Carla S. Nearhoof entered into eternal rest on January 12, 2025. She was born on May 17, 1954 in Akron,Ohio to Carl and Marilyn (Hawn) Ford.
Carla made a home with her loving husband of 30 years, Jack, whom she married on May 17, 1994.
Carla loved, above all else, her grandchildren and time with her family and friends. She found enjoyment in reading and was an excellent cook. She loved being a mom and taking care of her home. She appreciated all her trips to Siesta Key, which in turn fulfilled her love for being at the beach. She also enjoyed music and going to different concerts with her husband. Carla was deeply loved by everyone who knew her.
Carla is survived by her loving husband of 30 years Jack H. Nearhoof of Lake Milton, OH; daughters Nicole (Brian) Fairchild of Midland TX, Shay (Gary) Helton of Akron OH, Mary (Timothy) Treptow of Stow OH ; son Robert (Jennifer) Nearhoof of Uniontown OH.; grandchildren Weston, Evan, Julianne Fairchild, Emily and Kaitlyn Treptow, Madison and Emerson Nearhoof, and two sisters Renee of TX and Denise of VA.
Carla was predeceased by her parents and a sister; Michelle.
At the family’s request, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held this summer for family and friends.
