Congratulations to the Vienna Horse Judging team for placing 2nd at the Section 25 Horse Judging CDE last night. Layton Goines placed 2nd individually and Laney Watson placed 5th. Great way to end our last competition for the year.

Congratulations to the Vienna FFA livestock team for winning the 2026 SIU livestock judging contest. Vienna placed 1st out of 40 teams. Anna Bremer was 1st place individual, Curtner Bergmann placed 7th, and Olivia Quertermous placed 13th individually out of 282 individuals.

Vienna FFA has had a busy week! We started off on Tuesday at SIC with the Section 25 FFA Ag Mechanics contest, where Nathan McIlwain placed 2nd in electricity. On Wednesday, we traveled to Murray, Kentucky, for the Murray Field Day, where our livestock team did exceptionally well, placing 6th out of 68 teams, and Curtner Bergmann placed 3rd individually. We finished the week today at the SIU District 5 Invitational Livestock Judging and we are eagerly awaiting results.

The Vienna FFA traveled to Springfield, IL, today to advocate for agricultural education. It was a great experience for our members to meet with our legislators and tour the state's capitol building.

Good luck to Mady Bergmann as she competes at the State Awards Day in Mt. Zion, Illinois, in the area of diversified livestock production!

State bound! Mady and Curtner Bergmann represented Vienna FFA and Section 25 FFA in the areas of diversified livestock production and beef production placement last night at the District 5 proficiency awards. Mady Bergmann won diversified livestock and will represent District 5 at the state competition at Zion High School.

Congratulations to all of the members earning their Illinois FFA State Degree this year at the upcoming State Convention! Earning this degree is no easy task!

In order to be recommended for the state degree a member must complete the following:

•Have been an active FFA member for at least 24 months
•Completed 360 hours of ag education
•Earned $1500 or 750 hours within their SAE
•Invested at least $1,000 into their record book, •Demonstrated leadership ability
•Participated in the planning and completion of the Program of Activities
•Have participated in at least five FFA activities above the chapter level
•The member’s chapter must certify that it has not held less than twelve meetings during the preceding twelve-month period
•Be in the upper forty percent of the class or have an average of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale or a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale in all school subjects
•Finally the member must have at least 25 community service hours.
