Having students know that coaches care about them “is that first step in a difficult situation for a teenager to say, ‘Hey, I’m struggling.’”

That belief is what’s driving real change in youth sports, and it’s powerful to see it in action.

We’re especially proud to see Andrew Baird, Director of student activities at James Madison High School (Fairfax County, Virginia) leading the way. By investing the time to better understand and support his athletes, he’s creating an environment where students feel seen, supported, and safe.

This is what our mission is all about.

When coaches and faculty are equipped with the right tools, they don’t just build better athletes, they help shape stronger, healthier individuals for life. We’re honored to be part of this mission, and even more proud to see the conversation around taking down the stigma grow.

When life feels overwhelming, sometimes the best thing you can do is step outside of your own thoughts.

Try this: Take 10 minutes today to get out of your head and into the moment. Go for a walk, call a friend, write down what you’re feeling, or simply pause and breathe.

Small resets can make a big difference.

At Eric Monday Foundation, we believe awareness is the first step, but action is what creates change.

In honor of Stress Awareness Month, share this with someone you care about.

The transition from high school to college is a major life shift- especially for student-athletes.

For many, sports have been a constant: a built-in community, structured routine, and a core part of identity. Whether continuing at the collegiate level or stepping away from the game, that transition can bring unexpected challenges like loss of structure, pressure to redefine identity, and navigating a new level of independence.

EMF believes preparation goes beyond physical performance. Supporting mental health, building resilience, and developing life skills are just as critical during this next chapter.

For athletes continuing their sport: the demands increase, expectations rise, and balance becomes essential.

For those moving on from sports: it’s about rediscovering purpose, building new routines, and finding new communities.

No matter the path, one thing remains the same: you don’t have to navigate it alone.
