Honored and grateful to have presented at the annual Weingarten Symposium at University of Pennsylvania alongside my colleague David Walsh! We shared Sidelined, a program we developed to connect members of the Office for Access and Disability Services and our flagship organization LEVEL, with student-athletes, rooted in the intersection of sports and spirituality. All happening on the wonderful campus of Villanova University.
Our goal? To create a supportive space where student-athletes navigating injury, disability, or other challenges can find community, purpose, and resilience through meaningful connections. We truly believe Sidelined serves as a blueprint for deeper collaboration between University Athletics, Disability Services, and Campus Ministry—three areas that, together, can have a profound impact on student well-being.
The response from our audience reaffirmed the importance of this work, and we’re excited to keep building and sharing this model with others! Thank you to our team who helped bring this presentation to life (Kayla Concannon and Connor Hayes).
If you’re working on similar initiatives or interested in learning more, let’s connect. Collaboration is key to making a lasting difference!
