2 Samuel 3:38

King James Version

38 And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?

It is with profound sadness that we announce the transition from life to eternity of Mr. Alvin Anthony Haynes, Jr., “Chubby,” Co-Owner and Licensed Funeral Director. An extraordinary void is manifested while immense joy is borne, knowing the promises of a risen Savior. Alvin, Jr., “Chubby” to most, transitioned peacefully at his residence with his wife Stephanie Batiste Haynes at his side. “Chubby” worked tirelessly and passionately for more than 50 years to maintain and perpetuate the incredible nearly century-long legacy of Williams Funeral Home founded by his grandmother Bernadine Williams. “Chubby,” along with his brothers, followed in the footsteps of his parents Alvin A. Haynes, Sr. and Frances Emerson Haynes in guiding the business. He was a leader who genuinely cared about the client/families served throughout southwest Louisiana and loved his city, Opelousas and the community known as the “Hill” where the funeral homes’ main location is situated. Though he may be physically absent, the enduring principle that business is rooted in relationships will live on, and his larger-than-life spirit will remain a lasting presence in the lives of all he touched, as well as, those who knew and loved him.

We appreciate your thoughts and prayers of support for his wife, family, business family and everyone who developed relationships with him over many years of service to others.

…from labor to reward !!!
