Recovery isn’t always about feeling better right away.
Sometimes… it’s about learning to sit in the suck.
That restless feeling.
The cravings.
The boredom.
The guilt.
The thoughts telling you to escape.
That’s the work.
For a long time, using was the solution to discomfort. The moment things got hard, you didn’t have to feel it—you just changed it. But in recovery, the growth happens when you don’t run.
When you sit with it.
When you breathe through it.
When you remind yourself: this feeling will pass.
Because it will.
“Sitting in the suck” doesn’t mean you enjoy it. It means you outlast it. And every time you do, you build something stronger than the urge—resilience.
You’re not stuck.
You’re strengthening.
Stay in it. You’re learning how to live again.
