Obit for James E. Bouvy

James E. Bouvy, 87, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Wednesday May 20, 2026 at his home. He was born November 13, 1938 in Vincennes the son of J. Earl and Cecilia Carie Bouvy. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and entered the U.S. Air Force. He served his country during the Vietnam War and he retired as a Master Sgt. He was a member of the Old Cathedral, VFW, Legion and the Moose. He owned and operated the Boo-V Woodcraft having retired in 2003.

Jim is survived by his daughters, Debbie J. Waterman of Ft. Worth, TX, Brenda K. (Carl) of Sebree, KY Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by a special dear friend and neighbor, Lou Bean.

Jim was preceded in death by his son, David Bouvy, a daughter, Cathy Thomas, his parents J. Earl and Cecilia Bouvy and a sister, Shirley Kitchell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating at St Francis Xavier (Old Cathedral) Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest next to his companion, Mary Thompson in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. Military Gravesite honors will be performed by Scott Air Force Base. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Donor’s Military Charity of Choice.

Obit for F. Kay Marchino R.N.
F. Kay Marchino, 86, of Vincennes, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. Kay was born on December 1, 1939, in Washington, IN to Fred and Mary Evelyn (Dosch) Colvin. Kay graduated from Petersburg High School in 1957 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Evansville in 1961. Kay dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and later shared her knowledge as an Associate Professor of Nursing in the LPN program at Vincennes University. On February 2, 1962, she married Heath Marchino, together they built a loving life for 64 years. Kay was a member of the Knox County Retired Teachers Association and the Vincennes University “Lunch Bunch.” She enjoyed watching Indiana University Men’s Basketball and planting flowers. Above all, her most joy came from being a Mamaw to her five grandsons and their accomplishments.

Kay is survived by her devoted husband, Heath “Huck” Marchino; her children Jeff (Amy Sloan) Marchino and Beth (Tom) Robinson, both of Vincennes; her grandsons, Will (Nikki) Marchino, Luke (Landrey James) Marchino, Cameron (Carly) Robinson, Payton Robinson, and Brennon Robinson; her brother, Dr. Joseph Colvin of Orlando, Florida and several nieces and nephews. Kay will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 14, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.

Obit for Richard Neal Reitmeyer

Richard Neal Reitmeyer, 69, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away Friday May 1, 2026 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis; IN. Richard was born February 25, 1957 in Detroit, MI the son of William and Betty Reitmeyer. He was an electrical technician and was a skilled electric motor mechanic. He attended the Lutheran Church and lived the faith in his daily life.

He is survived by a son, Chad Reitmeyer, his granddaughters, Kayla and Amber, a great grandson, Nolan, and his brother, Randal (Judy) Reitmeyer.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, William and Betty Reitmeyer, and a son Ricky Reitmeyer.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 7, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Rastl officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his parents in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of services at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Ellen A. Riggs, 84, of Vincennes, IN, passed away Sunday May 3, 2026 at Gentlecare Nursing Center with her family at her bedside. Ellen was born July 8, 1941 in Kenosha, WI the daughter of Martin and Meta Breul Zoellner. She received 2 bachelors degrees from the University of Wisconsin and her masters degree and her EdS degree from Purdue University in elementary education. She taught English as a second language for many years. She married John D. Riggs July 26, 1970 and they made their life together for almost 56 years. She attended St. John United Church of Christ and was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights, IL. Ellen was a member of the Eastern Star and was a devoted wife and mother. She was active in church life with her family.

She is survived by her husband, John D. Riggs, a daughter, Nancy Riggs of Vincennes, IN and a son, John Alan Hugh Riggs of Des Plains, IL. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Alan (Rebecca) Zoellner of Williamsburg, VA and Don Zoellner of San Diego, CA.

A Memorial Gathering to celebrate her life will be held Saturday May 9, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. John United Church of Christ, services will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Deborah Alkins officiating. Obit for Marlin L. Dreiman
Marlin Dreiman, aka Chief, 4 Wheels, Flywheel, MD, The Tootsie Roll Man, Friend and Dad, a dedicated member of his community and devoted farmer, passed away on April 28, 2026 at the age of 88. Marlin was born on September 26, 1937 and was the oldest son of Donald A. and Vera Ann (Memering) Dreiman. He married Carol S. Kerns on August 13, 1961 and they made their life together for 64 years. They had one daughter, Cheryl S. (Monica Tomasik) Dreiman. Marlin was involved in many organizations throughout his life. WIN Energy REMC. Board of Directors 53 years, Hoosier Energy Board, South Knox School Board eight years, Graduate of Fritchton High School Class of 1957, Outstanding Fritchton Alumnus 2016, Knox County Soil and Water Conservation District Farmer of the Year 2015, Master Mason 548 Monroe City Lodge 49 years, 32▫ Scottish Rite, Vincennes York Rite and a Noble with Hadi Shrine.

Marlin was a friend you could count on and would help anyone. He had a rolodex of phone numbers in his little black book that he kept with him in his pocket. He was sure to collect friends along the way as he traveled far and wide in search of the perfect tractor or bull. He was known for his cowboy hats and boots, his love of Western TV shows, a slice of his wife’s apple pie (after telling her to “keep practicing”) and his ability of driving in reverse as fast as he could going forward. He always found the appropriate words of wisdom for any situation that would set you straight. Those that knew him would say that his gruff voice hid his heart of gold.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday May 9, 2026 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Frank Harmon officiating. Marlin will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday May 8, 2026 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. He will be missed and fondly remembered by many, and his wife Carol and daughter Cheryl wish to thank everyone for their kindness and support. Obit for Almeda M. Miley
Almeda M. Miley, 83, of Vincennes, passed away Friday April 17, 2026 at her residence. Almeda was born in Vincennes, Indiana the daughter of Clyde Alton and Aline Cummings. After graduation, she began her career in various fields having worked at Dollar General and as a childcare worker. She practiced her Christian faith daily when dealing with everyone she met. In April of 2001, she married Michael “Mike” Miley and they made their life together for 25 years. Almeda formerly held membership at the VFW Auxiliary, Moose Auxiliary and loved to go line dancing and karaoke. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Michael “Mike: Miley, children, Michael Wilson, Rick (Kristie) Wilson, Dean (Staci) McGuyer, Troy (Amy) Miley, Amanda Miley, Syanda Feist, Debbie Webb and Patty Carnahan, Keith (Laura) McGuyer, Ginger Miller and Candi Miller. Her grandchildren, Eric Wilson, Brittney Gipson, Lindsey Montgomery, Linsie Seger, Dirk McGuyer, Logan McGuyer, Scott Michael Miller, Tabatha Miller, Jennifer Miller, Autumn McGuyer, Samantha McGuyer and Cameron McGuyer. 16 great grandchildren and a brother, John Alton, also survive her.

Almeda was proceeded in death by her parents, Shane Miley and her best friend Beverly Lamb.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Tuesday April 21, 2026 at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home at 1:00 PM. Rev. Kevin Miley will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. Hazel M. (DeBord) Steimel, 95, of Bicknell, IN, passed away Sunday April 12, 2026 at her residence with her family at her bedside. Hazel was born March 2, 1931 in Wheatland, IN the daughter of Samuel and Lucy Cates DeBord. She was a 1949 graduate of Wheatland High School and on November 25, 1950, she married Robert L. Steimel and they made their life together for 68 years until his death on January 21, 2019. She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the oldest current member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, she and her husband Robert received the Brute Award and was active in various church related events.

She is survived by 8 children, Deborah J. (Jerry) Snapp of Vincennes, IN. Connie J. (Rod) Hughes of Bicknell, IN, Robert L. (Sandy) Steimel JR. of Vincennes, IN, Cathy A. (Terry) Hudson of Patoka, IN, Janet S. (Mike) Telligman of Vincennes, IN, Judy S. (Mike) Menke of Bruceville, IN, Kenneth (Joy) Steimel of Bicknell, IN and Phillip S. Steimel of Bicknell. She was blessed with 20 Grandchildren and 44 Great Grandchildren.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Steimel SR, A granddaughter, Casey Lamb, her parents, Samuel and Lucy DeBord, a brother, Guy DeBord and 2 sisters, Florance McCarter and Violet Allen.

James R. Yochum, 77, formerly of Vincennes, passed away at his home April 5, 2026 with his family at his bedside. Jim was born March 27, 1949 at Ft. Knox, Kentucky the son of Sebastian and Lucille M. Fleck Yochum. Jim was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Wabash Valley College having received an AS degree. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and Korea. He began his career as a coal miner working for over 30 years with Foundation/AMEX Coal Companies. He married Diana L. Sage on September 2, 1972 and they made their life together for nearly 54 years. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, K of C, American Legion and VFW. He was a member for over 30 years of the Old Post Amatuer Radio Society, he was an active participant with the Military Museum and was a maker of Our Lady Rosary’s .

Jim is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Diana L. Yochum, a son, Jason (Amanda) Yochum of Haubstadt, IN, son in law, Derek Dailey of Fishers, IN, grandchildren, Tucker Yochum, Karlee Yochum, Sage Heymann, Luke Heymann, and Lilly Dailey. He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth “Kenny” (Linda) Yochum of Vincennes and Thomas “Tom” (Margaret) Yochum of Anna, TX and a sister, Carol Ann Grostefon of Vincennes, IN.

Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Erica Dailey, his parents, Sebastian and Lucille Yochum and a brother, Darrell Yochum.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM/ EST on Monday April 13, 2026 at Old Cathedral Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. He will be laid to rest in Mt. Particia A. (Ballard) Meeks, 82, formerly of Vincennes, passed away April 3, 2026 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis, IN with her family at her bedside. Patricia was born March 4, 1944 in Vincennes the daughter of Ervin and Mary Kathryn Coleman Ballard. She was a graduate of Lincoln High and she worked at various jobs and retired from Vincennes University in the maintenance department. She was a member of Oaktown Christian Church, VFW Auxiliary and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Stacy (Tina) Meeks of Vincennes, Angela Meeks (Brent Bowlin) of Vincennes and Jeff (Angie) Meeks of Pendelton, IN. Her grandchildren, Holly Merideth, Bradley Cole Bolenbaugh, Dylan Bolenbaugh, Tyler Bolenbaugh, Nickolas Meeks, Dustin Meeks and Adrienne Meeks. Her great grandchildren, Jazmyne Shelton, Makenna McCarter, Jared Litke, Tytan Litke, Broderick Bolenbaugh, Ashton Bolenbaugh, Harper Bolenbaugh, Layla Hollingsworth, Watson Meeks and Lorelai Meeks.

Patrica was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert Ballard and a sister, Carolyn Dotson.

Obit for Edward E. Banks
Edward "Ed" Banks, 83, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 22, 2026. Born on May 3, 1942, in Jackson County, Indiana, Ed was the son of William O. and Opal D. (Amos) Banks. One of six children, Ed grew up in the close-knit community of Crothersville, attending Crothersville High School before answering the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force. Shortly after beginning his service, he married the love of his life, Maxine Johnson, on June 16, 1960. Together, they shared a beautiful and devoted marriage that spanned 57 years. Ed and Maxine established their roots in Vincennes, where they raised their three children. A man of strong work ethic, Ed retired from Whirlpool after 40 years of dedicated service. His commitment to his neighbors extended into public service, where he served as the Johnson Township Trustee for 15 years. He was also a faithful parishioner of St. Thomas Catholic Church. Ed also supported the Democratic Party wholeheartedly continuing to watch CNN until his last day. In his younger years, Ed was an avid outdoorsman who found peace and excitement in hunting, fishing, and boating. Many of the family’s most cherished memories were made at Lake Santee at his parents home and Rhea Harbor, Tennessee, where the family enjoyed house boating. In their golden years, Ed and Maxine embraced the freedom of the open road, traveling extensively in their RV and forging lifelong friendships at every campsite. Whether they were on a cross-country trip or a local "golf cart adventure," they were happiest when they were together.

Ed’s legacy of hard work and family devotion lives on through his daughter, Lesa (Banks) Holscher and her husband, Jeff; daughter-in-law, Melonie Banks; and his beloved grandchildren: Bonnie (Robert) Fish, Brittney (Adam) Glass, and Aaron Banks (Michelle Larsen). He was also the proud great-grandfather to Addisyn, Jackson, and Madilynn Glass. He is further survived by his sister, Helen Prince, and his brother, Robert (Donna) Banks, a brother in law, Virgil Johnson and a special neighbor and friend, Mary Harrington Rogers.

Ed now joins those who preceded him in death: his loving wife, Maxine; his daughter, Shelly (Banks) Goodwin; his son, Donald Banks; his sister, Delores Webber; his brother, Marlon Banks; and his sister, Candice Banks Walterman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Saturday March 28, 2026 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Fr. Caleb Scherzinger and Deacon Earl Ruppel officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in St. Thomas Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Connie L. Carie, 80, of Bicknell, IN, passed away March 14, 2026 at her home with her family at her bedside. Connie was born August 17, 1945 in Lawrence County, IL the dauther of James H. and Rosie D. Laslie Farrar. She was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School and on August 5, 1967 she married Ambrose Carie and they made their life together for nearly 59 years. Connie formerly worked at Crestview Nursing Home and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Ambrose Carie, their children, Susan Clark of Princeton, IN, Amy L. (Eric) Mitchell of Pensacola, FL and Lisa (Robert) Stokes of Bicknell. Their grandchildren, Taylor Clark, Brandon Clark, Kelsey Clark, Matthew Stokes and Amber Stokes. Great grandchildren, Amelia Donohoo, Grayson Feightner, Hudson Feightner, Kenny Waggoner, Sullivan Brown and she was expecting a granddaughter, Sylvia Waggoner. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Jim Farrar of Bicknell, IN, Tom (Annette) Farrar of St. Francisville, IL, Mike (Cheryl) Farrar of Olney, IL, Alice (Ray) Hooten of Bicknell, IN and Tina (Clay) Atkins of Sumner, IL.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jerry Farrar and 2 sisters, Linda Farrar and Laura Enochs.
