At Bluebird Mental Health, every one of our therapists is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) — a highly researched and effective therapy approach for healing from trauma, anxiety, and other distressing life experiences.
What is EMDR?
EMDR helps your brain process painful memories in a new way so they no longer feel as overwhelming. Using specific eye movements or other forms of gentle bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps the brain “unlock” stuck memories, allowing you to reprocess them and reduce emotional distress-like closing an old chapter in a book so you can focus on the next one.
EMDR is used worldwide by mental health professionals and is recognized by organizations such as the World Health Organization and the American Psychiatric Association as an effective trauma treatment.
