Day 473: Carson is out for the summer and he is not happy about it. He told me he is going to miss his teachers and friends way too much. I assured him that summer would fly by and he would back in no time.

Day 472: Today has been an emotional day for me. Carson should have graduated kindergarten today. We should be celebrating him going on to 1st grade next school year and being at the same school as his big brother. (His brother will be going into 5th grade next year, so this was going to be the only year they’d be together.) Instead Carson will be returning to kindergarten in the Fall. After he was diagnosed I already made the decision to hold him back.
He only went this year to get to some type of normalcy and structure.
I didn’t realize it was going to be so emotional for the both of us. Carson coming home singing his graduation songs asking when his graduation was. Begging me to go on to 1st grade. Telling me he will work hard over the summer, because he wants to move on with his friends. Then me receiving countless emails and hearing announcements over the intercom about a graduation he would not be attending. I just hope and pray next year is his time to shine. I pray he whoops cancer and gets to graduate next year. I hope he gets the chance…..Next year I want him to celebrate completing kindergarten and ringing the bell. Gotta speak it into existence.

Since his class had graduation tonight they just did a Google meet for awards during school. I am still so proud of the growth he has made, only being in school for 2 1/2 months this year.

Day 469: Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana gave us tickets the Ringling Brothers Circus and Kids Cancer Alliance had an event at the Bats game this weekend. The game was canceled after a 2 hour rain delay, but Carson still had fun seeing all the Star War characters!

Day 468: Today Carson was invited to Bree's Blessings golf scramble. He loved being the celebrity guest. He woke up this morning weak and in pain and I wasn’t sure if he was going to make it. However, after some fluids Carson was feeling a lot better. He had a great time!!

Day 462: Carson has been feeling pretty good and living life as normal as possible. Friday he spent time with the family for his bio brothers and great grandmas birthday. He went with Kids Cancer Alliance to the zoo Saturday and today he went to Bernheim Forest.

Day 452: Carson’s numbers are getting a little low. If they go any lower, he will be on a chemo hold. Prayers his levels rise and he keeps moving on up and kicking cancers butt!!

Day 448: Another day at the zoo. Carson gets really tired and exhausted quickly. I am worried how he is going to do this summer. You can tell how quickly his energy changes in the pictures. He only lasted a couple hours before the heat got to him and it wasn’t even hot today. 😔

Day 446: I forgot Carson had a concert today and I went on a field trip with the preschool classes at my school, but Mammy took pictures and my boy did great. The videos made me cry with joy. Carson is getting to be a 6 year old and participate in school activities. He is kicking cancers butt.
Yet, this evening I cried from hurt. I have an alarm set at 8pm for his chemo. I was doing something when it went off, so I snoozed it. The first time Carson started saying. “Mom it’s time for chemo.” I told him it was fine and the alarm would go off again. The second time he started crying saying, “ mommy we have to do my chemo now, I don’t want to die. Let’s go now.” Broke my heart. No child should have to feel this way. 😔
