Martha's Vineyard Medical

Martha's Vineyard Medical Serving Martha’s Vineyard with patient-centered primary care since 1985. With a new name and renewed commitment, we are taking new patients and hiring.

Call 508-693-4400 Vineyard Medical Care serves island residents and welcomes vacationing visitors who require medical attention. Since the island does not have any urgent care facilities other than the ER, Vineyard Medical Care offers medical attention to those in sudden need of care for minor illnesses. Patients may avoid unnecessary and costly hospital emergency room visits and help prevent the ER from becoming overwhelmed with less severe instances. We are a small practice and ask for your understanding that we are not an urgent care or walk-in clinic*. We do offer same-day or next-day appointments as much as we can safely manage within the scope of our licensing.

*Walk-ins are welcome, but we do have limited availability.

*There is no on-site imaging (x-rays, ultrasounds, CT, MRI, etc.)

*Our clinicians are not pediatricians and have varying age limits based on the severity of the problem. Please check with our front office on the availability of an appointment for your child. We also offer appointments for the following services:

Exams/Tests requested by employers (e.g., physicals, TB tests, drug screenings)
Sports physicals for students
DOT exams
Police exams
Chain-of-Custody Drug Testing
Coast Guard exams

And that's a wrap! Big thank you to all who participated in Tick Talk 2025. Over 100 attendees packed the Katharine Cornell Theater to hear 14 experts across 6 sessions. It was intense but informative with a wide range of viewpoints and a tremendous amount of practical, actionable information. We remain commited to the health and well being of our Island. So if you've been bitten - or think you've been bitten - by a tick, come see us. The earlier you detect and treat a tick-borne illness like Lyme, the better chance you get of a full recovery. We couldn't have done this without our sponsors - Project Lyme, The Fledgling Fund, Johnson Family Foundation, Martha's Vineyard Community Foundation, the Martha's Vineyard Hospital and D. Best Construction. ICYMI, we'll be posting a link to the MVTV coverage on our website as soon as we get it.

"Living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically," wrote Justin Timberlake on Instagram after Lyme disease nearly ended his world tour. If you've spent any time on Martha's Vineyard, you know that Lyme disease is a major problem. Fortunately, most Lyme cases caught early can be treated with antibiotics. If you've been bitten or think you've been bitten, please call us.
