Offgrid Outdoors We hunt in Utah, Wyoming, Texas and Mexico. We have been in the outfitting business since 2003 In Mexico, we offer coues deer and desert mule deer.

We offer mule deer, shiras moose, black bear, cougar, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, pronghorn antelope and elk hunts in Utah. In Wyoming, we offer cougar, whitetail deer, mule deer, elk and antelope. In Texas, we have free range aoudad, whitetail, axis, sika deer and hogs. There is everything you could think of to hunt under high fence.

Here is a photo of my other grandson, Kendrix. It was the last day of the season and we were feeling a little anxious about getting one harvested. We were hunting up a creek bottom when this deer jumped out and began running across the ridge in front of us. He stopped at 550 yards away and gave us the classic mule deer last look. Kendrix was pretty calm, but Grandpa lost his composure and said, Hurry up and a shoot that dang deer or something to that effect. Kendrix hit him the first shot and then proceeded to put another round in him when we got little closer. It was a nice first deer for this young man and at least he kept his cool!

I was able to take my grandkids on a hunt at the end of the Wyoming season. I had my son-in-Iaw, Quin Kohler, Max, Haisley and McCoy with me and Kade and his oldest boy Kendrix hunting. McCoy has went hunting with Lesa and I since he was a little kid. He liked this tall 2x3 for his first mule deer. He shot 3 times, hitting him with every bullet. The first two shots were 680 yards and the third shot was at 380 yards.

Jan drove down from Washington to hunt mule deer in Wyoming with us. She hunted hard and passed up some bucks waiting for a really good one. Brandon, “Pretty Eyes” found a good buck that they were trying to connect with but he kept giving them the slip. This deer was found the last day of the hunt and he was in a very good location. When the buck bedded, Pretty Eyes and Jan began the stalk. Four hours later, she had the buck on the ground. He really has some great brow tines! He also has atrophied testicles which probably contributed to not cleaning off all the velvet.

Bubba from Texas came up to hunt with us in Wyoming. He was fresh off a surgery on his back which kept him from getting around very well. He was still able to get it done. We are looking forward to hunting with him again.

Some other views of Gordon’s big Wyoming bull. The bull really surprised us with his score and point lengths. The right 7-point side measured 166 6/8”, the left 8-point side measured 174 3/8” and the inside spread credit was the tip to tip with 45 1/8”. Add that up and you get 386 5/8”. Add the 11 4/8” of nontypical points and the gross score is 398 1/8”.

Gordon got it done on the second day of his hunt. We made a long stalk, circled below them to get the wind right and closed the distance to 225 yards. A few cow calls and the elk got curious and soon we had the bull standing broadside. One shot and Gordon had the bull of a lifetime.

Grayson AKA “Punkin” finally got his archery deer! Last year, he had a couple of shots and just wasn’t able to get one on the ground. He had a management hunt this year and this deer fits that description perfectly. Congrats on a job well done!
