It’s heating up out there—here’s what to know about keeping your baby hydrated:

👶 Under 6 months? No extra water needed.
Breastmilk and formula provide all the hydration your baby needs—even in hot weather. Breastmilk is about 85% water, and formula is mixed to meet hydration needs. Giving water to young babies can be unsafe and lead to overhydration.

🥣 6 months and up? Small sips are okay.
Once baby starts solids, 2–4 oz of water per day can help with digestion and cooling off. But most of their hydration still comes from breastmilk or formula.

🌞 The best plan? Nurse or bottle-feed on demand and soak up the summer snuggles.
