Jason Micheal Christie
Jason Micheal Christie, a man whose smile was as wide as the Oklahoma skies and whose laughter could simultaneously brighten a room, passed away on April 4, 2026, in Afton, Oklahoma. Born on August 27, 1978, in North Platte, Nebraska, Jason lived a life as rich and robust as the terrains he loved to roam.
Jason was not your everyday rancher; he was the proud owner and operator of the Diamond C Cattle Co., where he poured his heart and soul into raising cattle and cultivating a community. Those lucky enough to know him witnessed a tender-hearted man with the generosity to give you the shirt off his back—sometimes literally if you weren’t quick enough! A knower of odd facts and a lover of mountains, Jason’s zest for life was matched only by his unique brand of love language: relentless pestering and good-natured picking on anyone in his vicinity. He was a character you either adored or adored to rib—there was no middle ground. He was known for making you laugh until you were plum pi**ed off.
Outside the hustle of ranching, Jason was an avid hunter and fisherman, a collector of antiques and tribal arrowheads, and an enthusiast of family beach vacations that created memories as treasured as his artifact collection. His boundless energy and love for life were infectious, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed his path. And of course, his trademark saying, “That’s badass!”
Jason leaves behind a loving family who will keep his spirit alive through smiles, stories, and perhaps a little bit of pestering on the side. His high school sweetheart, love of his life and wife of 27 years, Dixie Christie, of the home, joined by their children: Megan Beeson (Jaron) of Monett, MO; Shelbee Christie (Zane Young) and Piper Christie (Briar Tune), both of Vinita, OK; and Dakota Christie and Trapper Christie also of the home; grandchildren, Barrett Beeson, Westee Tune, June Beeson, Everett Beeson, and one more special bundle, Keller Young, on the way; his mother, Dana Chaney of Tulsa, OK; grandparents Skip and Janice Wright and Donna Wright; mother-in-law, Pat Swope of Broken Arrow, OK; brother, Travis Christie of Vinita, OK; sister-in-law, Darcy Kickey (Michael) of Broken Arrow; brothers-in-law, Jesse Shepherd (Melissa) and Charlie Swope (Candice) also of Broken Arrow; nieces and nephews, Dax, Ryleigh, Dane, Nacey, Kynny, Bennett, and Kohen; uncles, Hans Wright, Sean (Jeremy) Nunes, Mark (Darla) Wright, Chuck Jones, Tracy Simmons, Tony Christie; aunt, Ruth Ann Pierce; Lisa Lawson, Mike Bronaugh; numerous cousins and a host of friends.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Christie, and great-grandmother, Omalea Wright.
