Working Wednesday, science edition:

Horses lie down primarily to achieve deep Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep, which is essential for mental and physical recovery. While they can doze standing up using a specialized "stay apparatus" to lock their leg joints, they must lie down for about 30–60 minutes daily to prevent REM-sleep deprivation.

I was taught that horses will only do this if they feel safe enough in the environment.

Monday Modivation:
Remember, we can all enjoy horses. Even the fake ones! Thank you Dora and staff for being a good sport at the 19th annual Chocolate Affair last week.

Thank you Home of Hope maintenance team for making this guy for me. Now only was it a hit but I will be a great teaching tool for the upcoming session!

The "trailering" for our new horse was interesting to watch, by the way.
