Hi Everyone!
Iβm excited to announce that earlier this year I officially became a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS). This pivots my job only slightly more towards newborn care, sleep routines, feeding options, and all the nuances of caring for brand new babies.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR CLIENTS: My primary skill set and objective is to help care for newborn tater tots (soothing, learning their cries and cues with mom and dad, and making their adjustment to the world a little more cozy).
HOWEVER, I can still work in a Postpartum Doula capacity and shift my focus to the family as a whole. It will just depend on what each family needs π€
EXAMPLE- if you want someone to incorporate soothing and self-soothing techniques with baby to lay the groundwork for healthy sleep routines, someone who is at the helm of the ship overnight caring for and learning the baby - NCS is a great choice.
If you want someone to care for mom, to hold the baby so you can catch your breath, someone to help you not drown in laundry or in the flood of hormones and emotions- Postpartum Doula is probably the way to go.
These roles are very similar, and at times can overlap, but over the last few years, and after hundreds of hours working overnight with babies (3 weeks preemie up to 6 months) I am following my calling and that is loving on the babies. π π΄ πΌπ§π»βπΌ
So, yay!! Please send your friends, relatives, or coworkers my page or my info if they are expecting and plan to add a member to their village βπΌ
Best Wishes,
Ashton the Doula π
