These simple changes can make a BIG impact when it comes to your toddler’s early language development. Take it from an SLP! ⬇️
🔃 Instead of “what’s this”, try modeling slowly and leading your child in with the beggining of a sentence. “It’s a ___”
🔃Instead of playing silently, include fun sounds to early play! “Crash, bang, boom, wooosh”
🔃 Instead of telling your child they are wrong when they don’t follow a direction, show them how it’s done! Make a game out of going together!
🔃Instead of reading books side by side, read face to face! That way, your little one can see your mouth as you talk.
🔃Instead of modeling only single words or whole sentences, try the plus one rule! Add one word onto what your child already knows.
