Congratulations to Jordynn, one of our newest Aveanna therapy graduates!

Over the years Jordynn has been with her Aveanna therapy team, she worked on head control, mobility, and eventually progressed to navigating the community independently with and without her gait trainer. Through all her therapy milestones, PT Peter and PTA Aaron were by her side, ensuring she and her family had the support they needed to navigate the healthcare system, learn about new diagnoses, and obtain appropriate referrals and equipment. Over the last year that Jordynn worked with PTA Aaron, she improved her safety awareness, balance, and independence! She ultimately met all of her long-term goals that were made with her family when they started her care.

"I am very proud of Jordynn's progress and am excited for her to continue to develop in school and in the community after her journey at Aveanna," said PT Peter. "We can't wait to see all that she'll do with her newfound independence!"

Congratulations to Iden on his recent graduation from Aveanna speech therapy!

Iden worked with SLPA Mario for about a year. When they first started working together, Iden was nearly two years old and had language skills similar to those of a one-year-old. Through lessons that were catered to his specific needs, Mario was able to teach Iden to use a combination of sign language and spoken words.

"I prioritized collaborating closely with his family, ensuring they were an active part of his plan of care," said Mario. "With the support of his parents and grandparents, Iden made remarkable progress, expanding his vocabulary and beginning to use 2-3 word phrases."

By the end of the year in therapy, Iden not only met his language goals but exceeded them, leading to his successful discharge from treatment. We are so proud of you, Iden!

According to the United Spinal Association, a spinal cord injury refers to any damage to the spinal cord from trauma, disease, or a degenerative disorder. These injuries can affect motor, sensory, and autonomic function.

Throughout this month, we highlight the resilience and strength of those affected by these injuries, and we also emphasize the importance of fostering accessible environments and promoting inclusivity.
