🧬 Is Your Liver's Fate Written in Your Genes? Let's Decode PNPLA3! 🧬

Ever heard of the PNPLA3 gene? If not, your liver might want to have a word with you!

This tiny gene plays a big role in how our bodies handle fat in the liver. A specific variant, known as I148M, can increase the risk of developing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), even in individuals who aren't overweight or don't consume much alcohol. It's like having a genetic predisposition that makes your liver a bit more "clingy" with fat.

But here's the empowering part: genes aren't destiny. While PNPLA3 can influence risk, lifestyle choices—like a balanced diet, regular exercise, and avoiding excessive sugar—can make a significant difference in liver health.

Simply incorporate this easy and tasteful Turmeric milk, also known as "golden milk", is an excellent addition to a holistic protocol for managing fatty liver disease. I drink mine at night.

Turmeric, particularly its active compound curcumin, is known for its powerful anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and liver-supportive properties, making it an ideal ingredient for liver health.

Here's why turmeric milk can be beneficial for someone with fatty liver disease:

Benefits of Turmeric Milk for Fatty Liver Disease
Anti-Inflammatory: Curcumin in turmeric has been shown to reduce inflammation in the liver, helping to alleviate the inflammation that often accompanies fatty liver disease.
Antioxidant Protection: Turmeric provides strong antioxidant properties, which can help reduce oxidative stress on the liver and support its natural detoxification processes.
Supports Fat Metabolism: Studies suggest that curcumin may help regulate fat accumulation in the liver, which is essential for those with fatty liver disease.
Digestive Health: Turmeric aids digestion and promotes healthy bile production, both of which are important for liver health and overall metabolic function.

RECIPE;
Turmeric Milk Recipe (Golden Milk)
Ingredients:
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any preferred milk, such as coconut or oat milk)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder (or 1-inch fresh turmeric root, grated)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper (to enhance the absorption of curcumin)
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (optional, for additional anti-inflammatory benefits)
1 teaspoon coconut oil or ghee (for better absorption of turmeric)
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for additional flavor and benefits)
Instructions:
In a small saucepan, warm the milk over medium heat.
Add the turmeric powder, black pepper, ginger, cinnamon, and coconut oil or ghee. Stir well to combine.
Heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Be careful not to let it boil over.
Once warmed, remove from heat and pour into a cup.
Add honey or maple syrup for sweetness, if desired.
Stir and enjoy your golden milk!
How to Use:
Drink 1 cup daily (preferably in the evening) to support liver health, reduce inflammation, and improve overall digestion.
The black pepper in the recipe is important because it contains piperine, which helps increase the bioavailability of curcumin, making it easier for the body to absorb its benefits.
Additional Tips:
Consistency is key for seeing benefits from turmeric milk. Make it a regular part of your daily routine to support liver function over time.
If you prefer using fresh turmeric root, you can grate a small piece (about 1 inch) and add it to the milk. Fresh turmeric has a more potent flavor, so adjust according to your taste.
You can also add a few drops of high food grade Turmeric Essential Oil to your turmeric milk for an extra boost, but ensure you're using a high-quality, food-grade essential oil (Ask me what I use)

Even though I have extensive training in Holistic Health coaching and Hormone Balancing, I know what it’s like to struggle with hormone imbalances and the impact they can have on your life.

Because you see years ago, that struggle consumed my life.
I know what it’s like to wake up and feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and not know why my body was betraying me.

And to lay down at night thinking, sometimes just sobbing about how much I wanted to finally feel like myself again, without the constant fatigue and mood swings.

It got so bad that I found myself missing out on life, not able to enjoy time with my family or perform well at work because I felt too sick and tired and I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. Are you feeling me on this?
So, I know how painful it can be.
And, I know what it’s like to be on the other side of it.

To have had to balance my hormones, to feel energized, clear-headed, and to have a life where I wake up to the excitement of tackling my day with focus and vitality and having my emotions in check.

I go to bed at night thinking about how grateful I am for my health, my energy, and the positive impact I get to have on others. Now, when I wake up I express my gratitude for my health.

The best part is being able to share this with my clients, seeing their transformations, and knowing that I get to be a part of their journey.

And, I want this kind of life for everyone! That’s why I do the work that I do.

Even though there’s a part of me that thinks I’m sharing too much about my life’s work this week (as I shared earlier, I’m in a 5-Day challenge...), my deeper truth is that I care way too much about helping women get their hormones balanced and get their energy and with empowering them to to regain just knowing who they are and what they want in this life.
