Busyness is often treated as proof that we are doing enough. Days fill quickly. Responsibilities accumulate. Staying in motion becomes the default, even when it no longer supports us.

Over time, it gets harder to tell what is actually nourishing and what is simply consuming energy. The cost shows up slowly, through exhaustion, irritation, or a sense of distance from what matters most.

This is an invitation to pay closer attention to where your time is going and how it feels to live inside it. Not everything that keeps you occupied is meant to sustain you.

All our practitioners use mindfulness with their clients.

You disconnect from your body when things get overwhelming. It’s a survival mechanism, but it becomes a problem when you’re stuck there.

You end up running on autopilot, reacting instead of responding, repeating the same patterns because you can’t catch them early enough. Your body is sending signals, but you’ve learned to ignore them.

The work we do at Healing Arts Center helps change that. You reconnect so you can actually notice what’s happening before the pattern takes over. You learn to spot the signs earlier. You build the capacity to handle stress without shutting down. You stop burning through all your energy to make it through the day.

This is a standalone Reiki workshop for people who want to learn Reiki techniques for their own well-being. (No Certificate)

The focus is personal use and self-care. The morning is structured to support calm attention, nervous system regulation, and gentle learning without pressure to perform or pursue further training.

The workshop is led by Janice Landfair, owner of Essential Wellness, and is intended for anyone who is curious about Reiki and wants to explore it in a grounded, supportive setting.

Transitions are hard. They throw us off balance. They make us question things we thought we knew.

Supporting women in early to mid-adulthood as they move through career, family, and life challenges, and reconnect with who they are.

Mark’s creative coaching sessions start with checking in about your week and deciding what you want to work on. Then you create using drawing or painting.

You work with metaphors and symbols. If you’re dealing with self-doubt, Mark might ask you to draw what confidence feels like. If you’re navigating transition, you might paint where you feel most yourself. The images you create function as metaphors for what’s difficult to say directly.

Once you finish, you discuss what you made. Mark asks questions: What were you feeling while you created this? Does this color mean something? What’s happening in this image? Your art shows him how you’re processing and what needs attention.

Sessions close with any final thoughts or insights. If the session felt heavy, you might do a brief grounding or writing exercise.

This is creative coaching, separate from licensed art therapy services.

Starting something new takes courage, especially when it asks you to feel what you’ve been avoiding.

You’re not doing this alone. Somatic coaching at Healing Arts Center supports you as you reconnect with yourself, one breath and one session at a time.

Mark makes art. I write. Not because we’re good at it or want attention. We do it because sometimes there aren’t words for what we’re feeling.

Making something gives us another way to say what’s stuck inside. Colors, shapes, textures, words—whatever works. It lets us show what we’re going through, whatever that is.

And when you get it out—onto paper or canvas or the page—something shifts. The thoughts that were looping endlessly start to settle. You feel lighter.

Our clients watch us do this with our own s**t, and they understand: this isn’t some strategy. It’s what actually helps when you’re stuck.

You don’t have to be good. You don’t have to show anyone. You have to start.

No pictures are taken during your sessions, and we extend this protection to our events as well.

You won’t see us post photos of someone journaling, creating art, or meditating. Those moments reflect what is happening inside you. They’re private and vulnerable. They don’t belong on social media.

At events run by our founders, we don’t post pictures to social media. You may see photos of empty chairs or the backs of heads, but that’s it.

Our vetted providers follow the same standard: pictures are only posted when attendees have given explicit, informed consent. This means you are fully awake and aware, and that you agree to be photographed.

We don’t take pictures during meditation, breathwork, or any practice where you might not realize a photo is being taken. If you are vulnerable or focused on your work, your camera stays off.

Your healing space should feel safe, not documented.

Here’s what to look for:

You can be honest.

They follow what you bring.

Your pace matters.

Hard sessions still feel held.

They show up consistently.

They explain things.

Your input matters.

They validate your experience.

There’s actual rapport.

You leave with something.

Why This Matters

You should never feel uncomfortable because of how your practitioner treats you. There’s a difference between “this memory is painful” and “this person doesn’t make me feel safe.” One is part of healing. The other is a problem.

If most of these are missing, something essential isn’t there.

You deserve someone who creates the kind of space where healing can happen.

Happy New Year!

Before you set any goals for 2026, pause.

I’ve been sharing a single reflection question for years because looking back with honesty helps us move forward with clarity. Understanding what served us this past year gives us better insight into what comes next.

Sit with this question; however, it feels right. Journal alone. Discuss it with loved ones. Take a few days or weeks with it.

My only suggestion: reflect before you plan. Notice what worked, what challenged you, and how you grew. That wisdom will guide you more than any resolution list ever could.

Reflection isn’t about dwelling on what went wrong. It’s about moving forward with intention.

The 2026 question is: What do I value, and does my life reflect it? Where’s the gap between what matters most to me and how I actually spend my time and energy?

Wishing you a year that feels aligned and true to what matters most.
